Sogurt is coming back. The self-serve froyo chain a whole generation of Singaporeans grew up overfilling cups at opens a 102-seat flagship at One Holland Village, #02-23/24, 7 Holland Village Way, in December 2026, eight years after its last standalone store closed in 2018. Sogurt's own Instagram bio now reads "So back. 16 years of froyo. New home, One Holland Village. Opening Dec." and the exact date is still to be announced. First the part everyone felt when our post went up, then what is actually confirmed.
Our caption was four words, OMG i miss this, and the comments under Sogurt's own announcement say the same thing in longer form: "my childhood", "I still remember the NEX outlet", "bring back grape". Sogurt was the after-school place. You picked a cup, pulled the lever yourself, piled on toppings until the cup could not close, then watched the number on the scale climb because it was pay by weight and nobody had budgeted for that. Pink spoons, green stools, the heart on the cup.
It opened on Bukit Timah Road in 2010 and at its peak had 12 outlets by the founder's count, which is why so many people remember a different one: NEX, the one near school, the one you went to on a first date. It shrank, moved into the founder's Kara Cafe in 2017, and the last standalone store closed in 2018. If that stings, our list of childhood restaurants that closed in Singapore will sting more. This one is the rare case where the ending gets rewritten.
Sogurt announced the return on 14 October 2026, and founder Lee Li Ping told The Straits Times that same day it is a full rebrand, not just a reopening. The confirmed facts: a 102-seat flagship at One Holland Village, unit #02-23/24, taking over the space that was Plain Meredith cafe, with an alfresco terrace overlooking the pet park. The format stays self-serve and pay by weight. Opening is December 2026 and Sogurt's own post says the exact date will be announced later.
What is not confirmed: prices. Sogurt has not said what a cup will cost per 100g. In the meantime its online shop still sells pints, with Peach Mango listed at $14.95 for 473ml, which is the only Sogurt you can eat before December. The hoarding went up on 15 October with peel-off stickers revealing flavours, so if you are in Holland Village before then, that is where the teasers are.
Up to 10 rotating froyo and soft-serve flavours at any one time. The returning ones, per Sogurt's announcement: OG Green Apple Tart, Peach Mango Tart, Strawberry Tart and OG Chocolate. New: Matcha and Black Sesame, plus vegan options, which the Straits Times interview names as Pink Guava Sorbet and Acai. The tart flavours are now made with Greek yogurt and real fruit, which is Sogurt's way of saying it tastes different from 2012. Grape, the one the comments are begging for, is not on the list.
Toppings sit on a central stage: pistachio kunafa, mini mochi, passion fruit and grape popping boba, Biscoff crumble, salted caramel pretzel crunch and fresh fruit, finished with salted caramel or warm chocolate from a chocolate tap. Pistachio kunafa and Biscoff on a froyo bar is 2026 talking. If you want to compare it with the Australian chain that made self-serve froyo cool again, we tried Yo-Chi's peach flavour earlier this year.
One Holland Village is at 7 Holland Village Way, Singapore 275748, and Sogurt will be on level 2 at #02-23/24. Holland Village MRT on the Circle Line, CC21, is the station, and the mall is a short walk from the exit. The pet park the terrace overlooks is the same one the Holland Village dog crowd uses on weekend mornings, so expect dogs at the next table. We spent a weekend in the precinct for Village Encounters in August if you want the lay of the land.
· Pay by weight means the toppings cost the same as the froyo. Fruit and mochi are heavy, popping boba is light, plan the cup accordingly.
· Follow @sogurtsg for the opening date. It is the only channel Sogurt is using and the date is still December, nothing more specific.
· Go on a weekday afternoon in the first fortnight. 102 seats sounds like a lot until a nostalgic island shows up on a Saturday.
· If you cannot wait, the pints on sogurt.com.sg are the same brand and Peach Mango is the closest thing to the old cup.
