Indoor Workouts in Singapore During the Haze: Gyms, Pools, Climbing and Courts (2026)

When the 24-hour PSI is Unhealthy, MOH tells healthy people to reduce prolonged or strenuous outdoor exercise, so take it indoors. ActiveSG gyms are $2.50 an entry for citizens and PRs, ActiveSG badminton courts $3.50 an hour off-peak, and Climb Central, which says it is air-conditioned, is $27.30 to $31.40 a climb. Pools are the catch: several have shut for the haze.

What NEA and MOH say about exercising in haze

At 101 to 200 (Unhealthy), healthy people should reduce prolonged or strenuous outdoor exertion. At 201 to 300 (Very Unhealthy), they should avoid it. NEA says to check the 1-hour PM2.5 before you head out, since that is what you breathe right now. Our haze explainer has today's readings and the full advisory.

Indoors is the easy fix, but an open-sided sport hall is not the same as an air-conditioned gym. Ask if you are not sure.

ActiveSG gyms and badminton courts

ActiveSG gym entry is $2.50 for citizens and PRs and $3.30 standard. A month of MyActiveGYM for adults 18 to 54 is $30, or $15 off-peak (weekdays until 4pm). ActiveSG's pages do not say which gyms are air-conditioned, so ask the counter. Gyms that list daily 7am to 10pm include Bishan, Toa Payoh, Jalan Besar, Heartbeat@Bedok (Level 6), Tampines (Level 7, Our Tampines Hub), Katong and Woodlands. Bukit Batok ActiveSG Gym is closed for maintenance on 29 October.

Badminton courts are $3.50 an hour off-peak (weekdays 7am to 6pm) and $7.40 peak (weekdays 6pm to 10pm, weekends and public holidays 7am to 10pm) for citizens and PRs. Standard rates are $4.60 and $9.70. Book on ActiveSG, two slots a day per person.

Climbing gyms: Climb Central and Boulder Planet

Climb Central says you can "climb all day in air-conditioned comfort". Outlets: Kallang Wave Mall #B1-01 and Funan #B2-19/21 (weekdays 11am to 11pm), Novena Square #03-23/25 and SAFRA Choa Chu Kang (weekdays 1pm to 11pm). All open 9am to 9pm on weekends and public holidays. A returning adult pays $31.40 at Kallang and Funan or $27.30 at Novena and CCK; youth (13 to 17) is $21.80. First time? The adult first-timer set is $38.20, covering registration, entry and gear. Shoes alone are $6. Prices are GST inclusive. Kids need to be 4 and up, over 16kg and over 1m.

Boulder Planet is at Sembawang Shopping Centre #B1-22/23 (weekdays 10am to 10pm) and Grantral Mall, Tai Seng, #02-07 (weekdays 10am to 10.30pm), both 10am to 9pm on weekends. A single entry is $33. The youth pass is $16 for 18 and under, weekdays before 6.30pm. Beginners 13 and up can take the $55 Starter Pack: an 80-minute class and two weeks of unlimited entry.

After Kallang, eat at Kallang Wave Mall: our list of its restaurants has units and hours. Funan has its own food guide.

Pools: which ones are closed

From 15 October, ActiveSG closed outdoor and non-air-conditioned facilities at its West region sport centres. That includes the Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Jurong East, Jurong West and Senja-Cashew swimming complexes and Jurong Lake Gardens Pool. ActiveSG's banner said the other regions stayed open; check its closures list, which changes daily.

The OCBC Aquatic Centre at Kallang is open Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, 7am to 9.30pm, closed Tuesdays. Entry is $2.20 peak and $2.00 off-peak for resident adults. It is closed 30 October to 1 November for the national swimming championships. Its page does not say whether it is air-conditioned, and The Kallang's haze policy treats it like an outdoor venue: at PSI 201 to 300, activities at the OCBC Aquatic Centre are suspended. Check before you go.

For kids: SuperPark at Suntec

SuperPark Singapore, Suntec City Mall #01-488, is an indoor activity park. It opens Monday to Thursday 10.30am to 8pm, Friday to 9pm, and Saturdays, public and school holidays 9am to 9pm, Sundays 9am to 8pm. Day passes are sold on its booking site. Prices change by date, so check before you go.

Good to know

· Check the 1-hour PM2.5 before you walk to the gym, not just the 24-hour PSI.

· If the PSI goes above 200, OCBC Aquatic Centre suspends activities. Have a gym or climbing plan B.

· First-time climbers: the $38.20 Climb Central set already includes shoes and harness.
