Is Snow City still open?

No. Snow City shut for good on Wednesday 30 September 2026. It was not a renovation break and not a move. The homepage at snowcity.com.sg is now a single thank you note saying it has permanently closed, with a link over to the Science Centre for any questions.

It opened in 2000 next to the Science Centre at 21 Jurong Town Hall Road, so it went at 26 years old. If you grew up in the west, this was the snow slope in every Jurong childhood photo.

Why it closed

The Science Centre Board, which ran Snow City, announced the closure in May 2026. Its reason was that it wanted to refresh what it offers as visitor interests and the attractions scene change, while keeping to its science education mission and long term plans.

The board said all eight full-time Snow City staff were offered other roles inside the organisation.

What the last tickets cost

From June to the final day there was a farewell run called One Last Snowfall. It was $19 for an adult and $16 for a child, down from $27 and $23, for one hour of snow play plus one ride on the ice bumper cars. Brand new winterwear went for $10 a piece. Is anything replacing it?

Not that anyone has announced. Neither Snow City's site nor the Science Centre's site says what goes into the space, and there is no new indoor snow venue planned that we can find. As of 1 October 2026, there is nowhere in Singapore to play in real snow.
