We stood outside the Jett Barbecue stall at Gastrobeats and asked people to choose: fifty dollars cash, or the beef cheek burger in front of them. Gastrobeats 2026 ran 5 to 28 June at Bayfront Event Space, so the queue was already deciding something similar without us.
It ran until 28 June 2026. We keep the page up because people still search for it and the details are worth having, but do not make the trip on the strength of this article. For what is actually on right now, see things to do this weekend.
Fifty dollars is fifty dollars. But you are standing in a queue you already joined, the smoker is right there, and the smell is doing most of the arguing. That is the whole bit.
Jett Barbecue does Texas-style smoked meat and brought industrial smokers over from Texas rather than working around what is available here, which is the reason their stall pulled the line it did. On the festival's opening weekend they gave away 750 smoked beef cheek burgers across the first three days.
We run a real version of this too, not just the street game: we give $50 to a random follower every month.
It ran 5 to 28 June 2026 at Bayfront Event Space, daily 4pm to 11pm, with free general admission and more than 40 F&B booths. It was the fifth edition. Bayfront MRT is about a five minute walk, which is why it works as a weeknight thing rather than a whole outing.
It has finished for the year. For what is actually on now, see our free events in Singapore this September.
· Gastrobeats 2026 ran 5 to 28 June at Bayfront Event Space. It is over. Check for the next edition before you plan around it.
· General admission was free. The money goes on the food, so go with a rough budget rather than a plan.
· Bayfront MRT is a five minute walk. Do not drive to Marina Bay on a Saturday night for a food festival.
