We are building a reservations app for small and independent Singapore F&Bs, starting with 100 of them. The ask right now is simple: comment 'foodie' on our Instagram post and we will send you the link to add your name to the support list.
Singapore keeps opening restaurants and keeps losing them at almost the same rate. In the first four months of 2026, 1,267 food businesses shut. That is close to half of the 3,148 that closed across all of 2025, in a third of the time. Over the same January to April window, 1,436 new F&Bs registered. So the industry is roughly running in place: 1,436 in, 1,267 out. The gap is a rounding error. Zoom out to 2024 and the shape is the same, 3,793 new F&Bs set up and 3,047 closed, which works out to eight leaving for every ten that arrive. Margins in the trade sit somewhere between 5 and 15 per cent on our reading of the numbers, and that is before the long hours and the customers who make a Tuesday feel like a punishment. We cover new openings every week, and we have covered enough of the closings too. Eventful already runs limited pre-order drops with small vendors, so this is the same idea aimed at a different problem. Here is how the drops side works if you have not seen it.
One place to book the small F&Bs you already know and love. Not the chains, not the hotel restaurants with their own booking teams, the independents who are running the floor and the phone at the same time. The plan is to start at 100 of them. It is not live yet and we are not going to pretend otherwise, so there is no download link in this article. What exists today is a list of people who want it to exist, which is the thing that decides whether it gets built properly. If you want a sense of the kind of small operator we work with, we wrote about the cheese kiosk inside a Shell petrol station.
Comment 'foodie' on the post and we will send you the link. That is the whole process, and it takes about four seconds. If you run an F&B and want to be one of the first 100, message us on Instagram at @eventful_sg or use the contact page and say so directly. We would rather hear from you than guess what you need.
· Comment 'foodie' on the Instagram post and we will send the link over.
· Running an F&B? Message @eventful_sg directly to be considered for the first 100.
· The app is not live yet. Nothing to download, nothing to pay for.

Singapore lost 1,267 food businesses between January and April 2026, against 1,436 new ones registering in the same period. Small independents are the ones taking the hit, and most of them have no easy way for people to book them.
No. We are collecting names first. Nothing is available to download and there is nothing to pay for.
