Tanjong Pagar has two kinds of food, and they keep different hours. Amoy Street Food Centre and Tanjong Pagar Plaza feed the office crowd, and several of the best stalls, including four MICHELIN Bib Gourmand stalls at Amoy, three of them below (the fourth, Hoo Kee Bak Chang at #01-18, opens Wednesdays only by its MICHELIN listing), close on weekends. Tanjong Pagar Road, Duxton, Keong Saik and Jiak Chuan Road are shophouse restaurants that come alive at dinner. This guide lists 17 places across both.

It runs as a walk. Start at Amoy Street Food Centre, which SMRT lists at Tanjong Pagar MRT Exit G, cross to Tras Street and Tanjong Pagar Plaza at Exit A, then walk up Tanjong Pagar Road to Craig Road and Neil Road, and finish on Keong Saik Road and Everton Park, closer to Outram Park MRT. Maxwell MRT on the Thomson-East Coast Line is the other way in, a few minutes from the top of Tanjong Pagar Road.

Hours come from each venue's own site, or the stall's MICHELIN Guide listing for hawkers, checked on 15 October 2026. Maxwell Food Centre is next door but sits in our Chinatown food guide.

The list

Amoy Street Food Centre at Tanjong Pagar

1. Amoy Street Food Centre

OPEN7 Maxwell Road (Amoy Street side) · Tanjong Pagar MRT Exit G

The CBD's lunch canteen: two storeys and 134 cooked food stalls, built in 1983 by NEA's count. The three Bib Gourmand stalls that follow are all here, and all three list weekdays only, so a Saturday trip can end in shutters. Come at 11.30am, before the offices empty out.

2. J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff

OPENAmoy Street Food Centre, #01-21

The breakfast stop, and a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand for 2026. The Michelin listing names the flavours: classic chicken and potato curry, black pepper chicken, sweet taro and a chilli one, all in a flaky crust. Weekdays only, opens at 8am, and cash only.

🍽 Curry puffs, Bib Gourmand 2026  ·  ⏰ Mon to Fri 8am to 3pm, closed Sat and Sun

3. A Noodle Story

OPENAmoy Street Food Centre, #01-39

Singapore-style ramen: thin noodles in a savoury broth with slow-cooked pork belly and wontons, which is what the Michelin write-up tells you to order. It holds a Bib Gourmand again for 2026. Weekdays only and cash only, so bring notes.

🍽 Singapore-style ramen, pork belly, wontons, Bib Gourmand 2026  ·  ⏰ Mon to Fri 10am to 8pm, closed Sat and Sun

4. Han Kee

OPENAmoy Street Food Centre, #02-129 (upstairs)

Upstairs for fish soup, and another Bib Gourmand stall at Amoy. The mackerel stock is the reason for the queue that the Michelin Guide warns about, and you can have it with sliced fish or fish head, plain or with bee hoon. Lunch only on weekdays, cash only.

🍽 Fish soup, sliced fish bee hoon, Bib Gourmand 2026  ·  ⏰ Mon to Fri 11am to 3pm, closed Sat and Sun

5. The Original Vadai

OPENAmoy Street Food Centre, #02-84 (upstairs)

The halal pick at Amoy: MUIS lists this stall as halal-certified. It fries the crunchy lentil vadai the brand is named after, and the prawn vadai is the one to get. It opens at 8am, so it works as an early snack before the lunch queues.

🍽 Prawn vadai, halal-certified hawker stall  ·  ⏰ Mon to Fri 8am to 3.45pm
Whole Earth at Tanjong Pagar

6. Whole Earth

OPEN76 Peck Seah Street · about 2 min from Tanjong Pagar MRT

Peranakan and Thai food with no meat at all, and a Bib Gourmand for 2026. The Penang rendang and the Enchanted Forest are the house classics on their own menu. Book ahead for a group, the restaurant takes online and phone reservations.

7. Cumi Bali

OPEN50 Tras Street · about 4 min from Tanjong Pagar MRT

Family-friendly Indonesian, by its own site, with a Bib Gourmand for 2026. Their own site tells you what to order: the chargrilled squid the place is named after, ikan bakar under an 18-spice paste, sate Madura, and cendol to finish. They started on Duxton Hill before moving to Tras Street, so older maps may send you to the wrong road.

🍽 Indonesian, grilled squid, ikan bakar, Bib Gourmand 2026  ·  ⏰ Lunch 11.30am to 3pm, dinner 6pm to 9.30pm, open all week including public holidays

8. Tanjong Pagar Plaza Market & Food Centre

OPENBlk 6 Tanjong Pagar Plaza · Tanjong Pagar MRT Exit A

The neighbourhood hawker centre, older and quieter than Amoy, built in 1977 with 52 cooked food stalls by NEA's count. NEA's own write-up points you to chicken rice, curry fish head and seafood soup. It reopened after two months of repairs at the end of 2024.

9. Kueh Ho Jiak

OPENTanjong Pagar Plaza Market & Food Centre, #02-20

Savoury and sweet kueh at a hawker stall that MUIS lists as halal-certified. It opens at 7.30am and closes at 2pm, so this is a breakfast or lunch stop, not a teatime one. Buy extra for the office.

The Blue Ginger at Tanjong Pagar

10. The Blue Ginger

OPEN4 Craig Road · about 5 min from Tanjong Pagar MRT

The Korean restaurant on Craig Road that we reviewed: get the cheese pancake and the pig trotters, wrapped in lettuce with the kimchi. Skip the kimchi pancake, ours was too salty. Their Instagram says they take both reservations and walk-ins.

Shake Shack Neil Road at Tanjong Pagar

14. Shake Shack Neil Road

OPEN89 Neil Road, #01-01 · about 5 min from Outram Park MRT

Quick answers

Which MRT is best for Tanjong Pagar food?

Tanjong Pagar MRT on the East-West Line. SMRT lists Exit G for Amoy Street Food Centre and Exit A for Tanjong Pagar Plaza. For Keong Saik Road and Everton Park, Outram Park MRT is closer, and Maxwell MRT on the Thomson-East Coast Line is a few minutes from the top of Tanjong Pagar Road.

Are the Amoy Street Food Centre stalls open on weekends?

Many are not. J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff, A Noodle Story and Han Kee all list Monday to Friday only on their MICHELIN Guide pages, and The Original Vadai's own site lists weekdays. Go on a weekday lunchtime, or eat on Tanjong Pagar Road instead on Saturday.

Is there halal food in Tanjong Pagar?

Yes. The MUIS halal directory lists The Original Vadai at Amoy Street Food Centre, Kueh Ho Jiak at Tanjong Pagar Plaza and Overscoop at 55 Tanjong Pagar Road as halal-certified. The basement of Guoco Tower, at Tanjong Pagar MRT, also has several MUIS-certified food outlets.

What is open late in Tanjong Pagar?

Overscoop serves mochi waffles and gelato until 1.30am, and it is halal-certified. For a drink with food, Jigger & Pony at Amara, 165 Tanjong Pagar Road, takes its last food orders at 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, 18 and above only. Most restaurants on this list stop at 10pm to 11pm.

Where can a group of 8 book in Tanjong Pagar?

The Blue Ginger, in a three-storey shophouse on Tanjong Pagar Road, takes bookings and its Peranakan menu is built for sharing. Whole Earth and Kafe Utu also take reservations. Kok Sen's MICHELIN page lists no online booking, so contact the restaurant.

Where can I park near Tanjong Pagar?

HDB data lists a multi-storey car park at Blk 1 and 6 Tanjong Pagar Plaza, free on Sundays and public holidays from 7am to 10.30pm. Its gantry is only 1.8m, so taller vans will not fit. The Pinnacle@Duxton basement car park and Everton Park car parks are the other options.
