Bugis has quietly become the launch pad for every big food opening in Singapore. Chick-fil-A picked it for their first outlet, the Sidemen picked it for SIDES, and half the pop-ups we cover end up at the Bugis+ atrium.
We have covered this neighbourhood a lot on @eventful_sg, so here is the shortlist: the places around Bugis MRT we would actually send a friend to, with links to our original coverage of each one.
The first Chick-fil-A in Singapore opened here in December 2025 and pulled some of the wildest queues we have filmed. Our honest verdict after trying the menu: pretty damn good, like a cleaner take on fast food, though it costs a bit more than the usual chains. The queues have calmed down since opening, so 2026 is the time to go. Ground floor of Bugis+ at #01-19, not halal certified.
The Sidemen's fast food brand chose Bugis+ for its Singapore debut in June 2025. Tenders, waffle fries and shakes are the core, and credit where due: they listened to early feedback, adjusted prices and kept adding local specials like a nasi lemak with classic tenders. A second outlet opened in January 2026 at WEAVE, Resorts World Sentosa, so the queue here has somewhere else to go. Level 3, #03-25 to 26, not halal certified.
Reliable fish and chips in Bugis Junction, up on Level 4 at #04-05, and halal certified in the mall's own store directory. They run aggressive promos more often than most, including a 50 percent off everything day and a breakfast menu deal we covered, so check what is on before you order full price.
When LiHO rolled out their Thai tea series in February 2026, Bugis+ was one of the three soft launch outlets and we were there for it. The Thai tea smoothie was the standout. It has since gone islandwide, but this outlet had it early. Level 3 at #03-29 to 30, and halal certified in the mall's directory, which the Bugis+ cluster is short of.
A ten minute walk from the MRT into the Kampong Glam side gets you to Smashed, a small smash burger shop from the team behind The Halal Corner. There are no seats, it is takeaway only, so come at off-peak hours. Eatbook reports it as halal certified and the shop's own page does not say either way, so check at the counter if that matters to you.
The first outlet is at Bugis+, #01-19, on the ground floor a short walk from Bugis MRT. It opened in December 2025.
Two outlets. The first is Bugis+ #03-25 to 26, open since June 2025, and the second opened in January 2026 at WEAVE, Resorts World Sentosa, #01-202, 8 Sentosa Gateway.
Yes, and it is one of the better neighbourhoods for it. Of the places on this list, Big Fish Small Fish at Bugis Junction #04-05 and LiHO TEA at Bugis+ #03-29 to 30 are flagged halal certified in their malls' own store directories, and Smashed on Baghdad Street is reported halal certified by Eatbook. Bugis Junction has 19 halal certified places to eat in total and Bugis+ has 5. Certification is the shop's to hold, so look for the certificate at the counter.
Bugis station is EW12 on the East West Line and DT14 on the Downtown Line. Bugis Junction sits directly on the station and Bugis+ is across Victoria Street from it, both under cover. Baghdad Street is about ten minutes on foot the other way, past Bugis Street towards Kampong Glam.
Bugis Street and the Bugis+ atrium run rotating pop-ups and markets, but nothing with a fixed weekly schedule, so check before you make a special trip. The Singapore Night Festival ran 21 August to 5 September 2026 across the Bras Basah.Bugis district in the evenings.
