The best food in Bedok North sits in three pockets: the Bedok North Street 1 blocks a short walk from Bedok MRT (EW5), the Blk 84 shops next to Bedok 85, and the Blk 537 to 539 cluster on Bedok North Street 3, a market about 14 minutes' walk from Bedok North MRT (DT29); Pasar Makan at Blk 630 is nearer. This guide walks them in that order, from Heartbeat@Bedok up to Blk 538.
Our Bedok guide already covers Bedok 85, Kaki Bukit 511 and the Bib Gourmand stalls, so this page goes one layer deeper into the blocks it skims: a morning-only kway chap stall, a Nonya kueh shop, two halal nasi lemak counters and the Blk 538 market. Most picks are nearer Bedok MRT than Bedok North MRT, so check the station line on each entry before you set off.
We checked addresses and halal status on 15 October 2026 against MUIS's register, NEA's hawker list and each venue's own pages where they exist; where a stall publishes no hours, the entry says so.
The food court inside Heartbeat@Bedok, the same building as Bedok Library. Four of its counters are on the MUIS halal register: Chicky Fun Chicken Rice, Kampong Delights Mini Wok, Mala Wok and the drinks and toast stall. Easy pick for a mixed group that cannot agree on one dish.
The closest pick to Bedok MRT on this list, on the ground floor of Djitsun Mall. Order the smashed fried chicken with sambal and rice, the dish the shop is named for. MUIS lists this outlet as halal-certified.
Arnold's own Instagram says the brand was born in 1984, and this Bedok North shop is one of its outlets. Get the fried chicken, that is the whole point of coming. MUIS lists this outlet as halal-certified, and there is a second Arnold's at Fengshan Community Club (20 Bedok North St 2) if you are on the Bedok 85 side.
NEA's list says this centre was built in 1979 and has 82 cooked food stalls, so it is bigger than it looks from the road. Our Bedok guide covers Generation Coffee Roasters here; the picks below are two more reasons to walk in. Come in the morning or at lunch for the widest choice.
Their own page describes a herbal soup with flat rice noodles and pork, which is kway chap done the way it should be. It is a morning stall that opens a few days a week, so plan around it. They post their opening days on Facebook, so check before you go.
A halal nasi lemak stall inside the Blk 216 market, and MUIS lists a second Super Shiok stall at the Blk 538 market up the road. Handy if your group splits between the kway chap stall and the halal side.
A coffeeshop Western stall that MUIS lists as halal-certified. The name is the pitch, but prices move, so read the board before you order. It is a long walk from either MRT.
A Nonya kueh shop one block from Bedok 85, listed on the MUIS register as Lek Lim Nonya Cake Confectionary (1987). Buy a box for the office or for later. Pairs well with a supper run to Bedok 85 the same day.
The neighbourhood bakery on the same block as Lek Lim. Bake Inc's own site leads with its designer and customised cakes, and this outlet is on the MUIS halal register. Enquire on their site if you need a specific design.
A hawker centre about 14 minutes' walk from Bedok North MRT. NEA's list says it was built in 1979 and is a wet market with about 40 cooked food stalls, by NEA. MUIS lists a Super Shiok Nasi Lemak stall here at #01-115 if you need halal. NEA closes it for cleaning a few days at a time, so check the NEA closure list before a special trip.
A sit-down eatery at the foot of Blk 537, next to the Blk 538 market. MUIS lists it as halal-certified. Check the board for what is on.
A nasi padang stall in the Blk 539 coffeeshop whose own page says it is famous for sambal jenganan. Get that with rice and whatever looks freshest on the tray. It is not on the MUIS halal register, so ask at the stall if that matters to you.
Most of the Bedok North Street 1 picks are 4 to 9 minutes from Bedok MRT (EW5). The Blk 537 to 539 cluster on Bedok North Street 3 is about 13 to 16 minutes on foot from Bedok North MRT (DT29).
Yes. MUIS lists Ayam Penyet President, Arnold's Fried Chicken, Super Shiok Nasi Lemak, $6 Western, Lek Lim Nonya Cake Confectionary, Bake Inc, New Hawa Restaurant and four counters at One Two Eat @ Heartbeat@Bedok as halal-certified. Check the certificate at the counter if it matters to you.
Pasar Makan @ Reservoir at 630 Bedok Reservoir Road (Blk 630) is the nearest, about 8 minutes' walk from Bedok North MRT. Blk 538 Bedok North Market & Hawker Centre at 538 Bedok North St 3 is about 14 minutes' walk. NEA lists about 40 cooked food stalls at Blk 538.
Bedok 85 (Fengshan Market & Food Centre) is the supper spot for this side of Bedok, and our Bedok food guide covers its stalls. Most of the picks on this page are daytime or early-evening places.
Start with the two hawker centres, Blk 216 and Blk 538, and the coffeeshops on Bedok North Street 2 and 3. Prices change often, so read the stall board.
One Two Eat at Heartbeat@Bedok has several counters under one roof, including halal ones, so everyone can order their own. The Blk 216 and Blk 538 hawker centres work for bigger groups too.
