The three best things to do at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands are Spectra, the free 15-minute light and water show at the Event Plaza (8pm and 9pm daily, plus 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays), a $15 sampan ride along the indoor canal on B2, and ArtScience Museum, where entry is free and selected exhibitions are ticketed. Every time and price here was checked on Marina Bay Sands' own pages on 15 October 2026.
Who it suits: everyone, and it is the easiest free date night in town. Our take: stand, do not book a table for it, unless you were going to drink there anyway. Our nearest food guide is Suntec City and Promenade, one stop away on the Downtown Line.
The wooden sampan boats are paddled along the canal at The Shoppes, B2, and loop the Rain Oculus. Rides run 11am to 9pm daily, last tickets at 8.30pm. It is $15 standard or $10 for Sands LifeStyle members. On Tuesdays and Thursdays (not public holidays) the 1pm, 3pm and 5pm rides become the Eye of the Waterfall Tour, $18 or $15 for members. Up to six people share a boat, children under 85cm and pregnant women cannot ride, and under-13s need an adult.
Who it suits: families and first-time visitors. Our take: short and a bit touristy, but the waterfall up close makes it.
The Rain Oculus is a 22-metre-wide acrylic bowl that collects rainwater for the canal. Once an hour it releases a cascade of 22,000 litres a minute from the skylight two storeys up. MBS lists no ticket for watching from the canal level, and it says The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Beanstro at #B2-20 has a good view of the boats.
Our take: time a coffee to the top of the hour and you get the show for the price of a latte.
ArtScience Museum opens daily 9am to 6pm, last entry 5pm, and the box office closes at 5pm. Walking in is free; selected exhibitions charge. teamLab Future World runs daily and is ticketed. Shows on now include Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath, made with OceanX, until 1 November 2026, the In the Ether festival on art and technology from 3 October to 6 December 2026, and the David Attenborough's First Life VR experience until 31 December 2026. Prices are on the museum's ticket page.
Who it suits: kids for Future World, adults for the rotating shows. Our take: check which exhibition you are paying for before you queue, and check the ticket page, as MBS also sells a combined museum ticket.
Next to Rasapura Masters on B2, this is a floor of projected flowers and animals that react to your steps, plus a drawing station where kids colour a creature and watch it come to life. Every 30 minutes a four-minute calligraphy sequence plays. It opens 11am to 9pm daily, last tickets 8pm, from $12 (members from $8.55).
Who it suits: under-10s. Our take: a cheaper, shorter taste of teamLab than Future World, ideal for a rainy hour.
Entry is through the Hotel Tower 3 driveway. Non-peak hours are 9.30am to 4.30pm (last entry 4pm) at $35 per adult, $31 concession and $110 for a family of two adults and two children. Peak hours are 5pm to 10pm (last entry 9.30pm) at $39, $35 and $126. The deck also looks down on Spectra in the evening. The deck is open-air and can close in bad weather.
Our take: if you are paying, go peak and time it with an 8pm or 9pm Spectra.
· From 16 to 18 October 2026 a BIGBANG Spectra replaces the usual nightly show.
· Into the Ocean at ArtScience Museum ends on 1 November 2026.
· Sands LifeStyle members get cheaper sampan, SkyPark and Digital Light Canvas tickets through the MBS app.
· Pre-book SkyPark online for a set timeslot, MBS strongly recommends it.
Spectra plays at 8pm and 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm on Friday and Saturday. It is free, lasts 15 minutes and is held over the water at the Event Plaza. A BIGBANG edition replaces the usual show from 16 to 18 October 2026.
A sampan ride costs $15, or $10 for Sands LifeStyle members. Rides run 11am to 9pm daily from the canal at The Shoppes, B2, with last tickets at 8.30pm.
Entry to ArtScience Museum is free, but selected exhibitions, including teamLab Future World, are ticketed. The museum opens 9am to 6pm daily with last entry at 5pm.
Adult tickets are $35 in non-peak hours (9.30am to 4.30pm) and $39 in peak hours (5pm to 10pm). Concession tickets are $31 and $35, and family packages are $110 and $126.
