The three best rainy day plans in Singapore are the National Gallery and the National Museum in the Civic District (both free for Singaporeans and PRs), and Jewel Changi Airport, where the Rain Vortex, Canopy Park and dinner sit under one glass roof. Below are 10 indoor picks grouped by region, so you can stay close to home when it pours.
The Civic District is the best place to be stuck in the rain: three museums and the Esplanade within a few MRT stops, all air-conditioned. If the weather clears, switch to things to do this weekend.
1. National Gallery Singapore
Where: 1 St Andrew's Road. MRT: City Hall Exit B, about a 7-minute walk. Hours: 10am to 7pm daily, last admission 6.30pm. Price: general admission free for Singaporeans, PRs, kids 6 and under and Singapore-based students; $20 standard, $15 for kids 7 to 12 and seniors. The UOB Southeast Asia Gallery is closed until late 2027.
Big enough to fill a whole wet afternoon. Start at the top and work down.
2. National Museum of Singapore

4. Esplanade Concourse
Where: Esplanade, Marina Bay. MRT: Esplanade. Hours: free shows on the Concourse almost daily, indoors, under the roof. Price: free.
The Concourse shows are indoors, so rain does not cancel them. Check the free programme listing before you go.
5. Jewel Rain Vortex and Canopy Park
Where: Jewel Changi Airport, 78 Airport Boulevard. MRT: Changi Airport. Hours: Rain Vortex 10am to 10pm; light and music show Monday to Thursday at 8pm and 9pm, Friday to Sunday, public holidays and their eves at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm. Price: free. Canopy Park on Level 5 costs $8, or $6 for Singapore residents.
The only waterfall you want to see on a rainy day is an indoor one. Jewel is open 24 hours and connects to the airport terminals, so you barely step outside; Terminal 4 needs a shuttle bus.
