Westgate is the family mall in the Jurong East cluster, the one with the rooftop playground, and it has quietly become the best eating of the three malls around the station. A lot of brands opened their first western Singapore outlet here.
The food is split: Level 1 to 4 is where you sit down, and the two basement floors are the fast and cheap end, including a food court. Unit numbers on everything below, because six floors of restaurants is a lot to walk twice.

1. 328 Katong Laksa
The Katong laksa, in the basement, with the noodles cut short so you eat it with a spoon. It is the real thing and it is eight dollars.
2. Bao's Pastry 鲍师傅糕点
The pork floss cake shop from Beijing that draws a queue wherever it opens. Buy the original and eat it the same day.
3. Poulét
French style roast chicken, halal certified, with the mushroom sauce. Reliable family meal.
4. Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut
Indonesian crispy fried duck, halal certified. Sambal that means it.
5. Sanook Kitchen
Halal Thai in the basement, cheap and quick, and the fallback when the queues upstairs are silly.
6. Tongue Tip Lanzhou Beef Noodles
Hand pulled Lanzhou beef noodles, and you pick the noodle thickness. Watch them pull it, then eat it fast.
7. Food Junction
The basement food court, which is where you go when the group cannot agree and nobody wants to queue.
8. Brotzeit
German beer hall food on Level 1. Pork knuckle, sausage platters and proper beer, which is not a combination the rest of this mall offers.
9. Nasty Cookie
Their own listing calls it Singapore's first New York style gourmet cookie store. Thick, heavy, and one is genuinely enough.
10. Läderach Chocolatier Suisse
Swiss chocolate broken off a slab in front of you. Expensive, very good, and a better present than it has any right to be.
11. Tim Ho Wan
The Hong Kong dim sum chain that started as a Michelin starred hole in the wall. The baked barbecue pork buns are still the reason to come and still worth ordering two of.
12. Shake Shack
Burgers, crinkle cut fries and concretes, over a big run of units on Level 1. The queue is shorter out here than in town.
13. JINJJA Chicken
Korean fried chicken, halal certified, on Level 2. Good for a group, better for takeaway.
14. Curry Times
Curry rice and local dishes, halal certified, from the Old Chang Kee group. Comfort food at food court money.
15. Paradise Dynasty
The eight coloured xiao long bao. Order the original and the black truffle and ignore the rest, then get the la mian.
16. Ippudo
Hakata tonkotsu ramen, consistent across every outlet, and a reliable single diner meal.
17. PUTIEN
Fujian Heng Hwa cooking, the stir fried yam and the fried bee hoon. One of the few mall restaurant chains that people would go out of their way for.
18. Anjappar
Chettinad food from Chennai, on Level 4. Properly spiced South Indian, and a different meal from everything else in the building.

How do I get to Westgate by MRT?
Jurong East station, on the North South Line (NS1) and East West Line (EW24). The mall is directly across from the station and connected at street level.
What time does Westgate open and close?
The mall runs 10am to 10pm daily. Individual restaurants set their own hours inside that, and the basement food court generally starts earlier than the upper floor restaurants.
Is there a food court at Westgate?
Yes. Food Junction is at #B1-29, and the mall's own directory files it under both food court and breakfast. The rest of Basement 1 and Basement 2 around it is kiosks and small counters, which is where the cheap food in this building actually is.
Is there a McDonald's or KFC at Westgate?
No. Westgate's own store directory lists no McDonald's, KFC or Burger King across its 243 tenants. The quickest food in the mall is Shake Shack at #01-20 to 22 & 33, JINJJA Chicken at #02-05, which is halal certified, and the Basement 1 and Basement 2 kiosks.
Where is the cheapest food at Westgate?
The two basement floors. Food Junction at Basement 1 is the food court. Basement 2 is a run of 15 kiosks and small counters, including 328 Katong Laksa at #B2-06, Yuen Kee Dumpling at #B2-K9 to K11, YGF Malatang at #B2-K12 and Xi Men Jie at #B2-03 to 04. Basement 1 has the cheap counters too, Tongue Tip Lanzhou Beef Noodles at #B1-28A among them.
Is there halal food at Westgate?
Yes. 8 of the 80 places to eat at Westgate are flagged halal certified in the mall's own store directory: Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut, Cat & the Fiddle, Curry Times, Green Delights, JINJJA Chicken, My Kampung, Poulét and Sanook Kitchen. We re-check that list daily, but certification is the shop's to hold, so look for the certificate at the counter if it matters to you.
Can I walk between Westgate, JEM and IMM?
Yes. JEM is across from Westgate at Jurong East station, and the sheltered J-Walk link bridge runs from Westgate Level 2 to IMM via Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. All three are one afternoon on foot, all covered.
Is Westgate good with kids?
It is built for it. There is a rooftop playground on the top level, a lot of family restaurants, and the mall is a short covered walk from the station, which matters when it rains.
