Why midnight, and why 150
A cap is only a cap if it is small enough to actually run out, and 150 boxes on a first drop was chosen so that the number meant something. Midnight is the other half of it: everyone finds out at the same moment, nobody gets a quiet head start, and the people who set an alarm are rewarded. What was in the box
$59 for four mystery cheeses pulled from a rotation of more than a hundred, plus pairing condiments of honeycomb, assorted nuts and dried fruits, plus half a classic grilled cheese sandwich pressed hot at collection. Usual value was $73 with GST included. Collection was at the PRESSED! kiosk inside the Shell station at 40 Upper East Coast Road. Mystery is the whole point: you do not choose the four, which is either the fun part or the reason you do not buy one.
What we took from the first drop
Two things carried into every drop after this one. First, tell people the exact cap and the exact close date up front, because vagueness reads as marketing and a real number reads as a real number. Second, a midnight open works, but it needs the reminder capture in place days ahead so nobody finds out on 29 July that it opened on the 28th. Both are now standard on every drop page.
