What the IKEA buffet cost

IKEA's own restaurant page listed adult tickets at $29.90, or $26.90 for IKEA Family members. Kids were $14.90, or $12.90 with Family, and children up to 4 ate free. Our caption at the time said $26.60 for members. IKEA's page said $26.90, so go with that.

The part people missed: every adult diner got a $10 IKEA home furnishing voucher. If you were buying a lamp anyway, a member's ticket worked out to about $17. That is very IKEA, as we wrote in why you always leave IKEA with things you did not need.

What was on the Buffet Istimewa menu

Half Swedish, half kampung kitchen. The IKEA side had beef meatballs with lingonberry jam, mashed potato, mushroom soup, fried chicken wings and spring rolls. The local side had nasi kunyit, ayam masak lemak chili padi, sweet and sour fish, sayur campur goreng and tofu goreng with peanut sauce.

There was a grilled chicken kebab live station with tortilla wraps, a DIY mee siam station, and kueh, ondeh ondeh and durian chendol mini cakes, honey dates and fruit cocktail for dessert. Coffee, tea and a Nordic cold drink came with it.

How tickets worked

Tickets were sold only at the Halal line check-out at IKEA Tampines, with limited seatings. The buffet line opened at 7pm and closed at 8.45pm, so turning up at 8.30pm got you about one plate.

It ran at Tampines because that is the only IKEA here with a Halal menu. The last date, 20 March, fell on the eve of Hari Raya Puasa, which was 21 March 2026.

Will it come back in 2027

IKEA has not announced a 2027 date. If it does return for Ramadan, expect it earlier in the year: MOM lists Hari Raya Puasa 2027 on Wednesday 10 March.
