How EventfulSG Got Over 10 Million Monthly Views in Singapore

How EventfulSG Got Over 10 Million Monthly Views in Singapore

Three things did most of the work in getting @eventful_sg past 10 million monthly views: borrowing topics bigger than the page, doomscrolling on purpose to learn what hooks people in the first three seconds, and killing content that is not working instead of nursing it. That is half the list from the reel. The other three are coming in a follow-up.

1. Leverage: pick a topic bigger than you are

Most small creators think quality is the only thing that matters. It matters, but it is not the lever. A beautifully shot video about something people do not know or do not care about will not travel, no matter how clean the edit is. The move is to use topics that are already more popular than you and bring the views back to your brand. Stop obsessing over the quality and start picking the subject better. That is the same instinct behind taking the page into Malaysia: go where the interest already is.

2. Doomscroll on purpose

This is not permission to waste your life. It is that if you do not scroll, you genuinely do not know how the thing works or what to make next. Immerse yourself in the content, then pay attention to what hooked you in the first three seconds and why. Most people making content have not watched enough of it to have an opinion about openings, and it shows in the first frame of everything they post.

3. Move on fast when it is not working

If the content is not working, or the views are just bad, move on and try something else. The advice you usually hear is to post 100 times before you find out whether a topic works. That is not real for anyone running a business or holding down a life. Nobody has 100 days to spend on one idea before it goes viral. Try it, read the number, drop it, try the next thing.

The other three are coming

The reel only got through three before it turned into a vlog about kangaroos, so the remaining three are landing in a follow-up post. Follow @eventful_sg if you want it when it drops, or read the six moments that actually built the page in the meantime.

Good to know

· Judge a video idea by its topic first and its production second. The topic decides the ceiling.

· Watch your own feed with a notebook open. Write down what stopped your thumb in the first three seconds.

· Set a kill rule before you post a series, for example three flat videos and you switch. It stops you sinking a month into one bet.

· A popular topic only pays off if the views come back to you, so make the brand visible early, not just in the last frame.

FAQs

How many monthly views does EventfulSG get?

Over 10 million a month across the @eventful_sg accounts, covering food and events in Singapore.

What is leverage in content creation?

Building content around a topic that already has more attention than your account does, then routing that attention back to your brand. It is the difference between a well-made video nobody searches for and an average one about something people are already looking up.

How long should you test a content idea before dropping it?

Far less time than the usual advice suggests. If the views are flat, move on and try something else rather than committing 100 posts to one topic, because most people running a business do not have that runway.

Does video quality matter for going viral?

It matters, but it is not what decides whether something travels. A high-quality video about a topic people do not relate to or have not heard of will not go viral, while an average-looking video on a topic people care about will.
