Genting Highlands Food Rated Part 2: Dragon-i Duck Scores a 9

Dragon-i Peking Duck at SkyAvenue gets 9/10 in part 2 of our brutally honest Genting Highlands food ratings, and the duck is the reason. Swensen's and Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh get 7, Kireina Cafe gets 5, and the durian at Chin Swee Caves Temple gets 11 out of 10, which needs explaining.

The scores

Durian at the temple, 11/10. Not for the durian. For sitting on a cold mountain eating it outside Chin Swee Caves Temple with the cable cars sliding past. The score is for the vibe and we stand by it.

Dragon-i Peking Duck, 9/10. The duck is a must-try. It is also a little pricey, so go with people who will share the bill.

Swensen's, 7/10. Surprisingly better up here than the Singapore ones. We cannot fully explain it either.

Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh, 7/10. On the pricier side for bak kut teh, but good for what you pay.

Kireina Cafe, 5/10. Very average food. The view was really nice. Go for the terrace, not the plate.

Missed the first round? Part 1 has Beauty in the Pot at 10/10 and a rest stop at 1.

Where each one is

Dragon-i Peking Duck is at Lot T2-22 and 23, Level T2, SkyAvenue. Swensen's is on the same level at Lot T2-A1, so you can do duck and then dessert without leaving the mall.

Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh is the Genting Permai branch of the Klang name, on Jalan Permai 2, below the resort. The durian stalls sit at Chin Swee Caves Temple, near the top. We could not confirm Kireina Cafe's address on its own pages, so look it up on Maps before you set off.

Before you drive up this month

Resorts World Genting has posted maintenance closures for its cable cars: Genting SkyWay from 5 to 9 October 2026 and Awana SkyWay from 12 to 16 October 2026. If your plan was cable car up and duck for lunch, check which one is running that week or drive.

If you are doing Genting on a budget, our cheap things to do in Genting list pairs well with the cheaper half of this one.

Good to know

· Dragon-i and Swensen's are both on Level T2 of SkyAvenue. Duck first, ice cream after.

· Share the duck. It is the pricey one on this list.

· Durian prices at the temple stalls change with the season, so ask per kg before they open one.

· Genting SkyWay is down 5 to 9 Oct and Awana SkyWay 12 to 16 Oct 2026.
