The Eventful Coin is a real coin you flip at a partner restaurant once you hit a minimum spend, and either side wins you a free dish or drink. We relaunched it on 19 September 2025 after a first run earlier that year, with one change: it would only launch at places we would send our own friends to. This reel was the announcement, filmed at Chix Hot Chicken over a tray of burgers, with the caption doing the explaining.
It is a physical coin with the Eventful pin on one face and the logo on the other. A partner restaurant keeps it at the counter. You follow @eventful_sg and the restaurant, order what you would normally order, and if your bill clears the minimum spend you ask the staff to flip it. Heads wins the bigger prize, tails the smaller one, so nobody walks away with nothing.
The full counter-side walkthrough, including the fine print that catches people, is in how an Eventful Coin flip works. The first relaunch edition, at Tolido's in October 2025, is written up in the Tolido's coin flip post.
The coin started at Big Fish Small Fish on 23 April 2025, where any in-store order won a free soup or a free drink until 23 May. Then INMERS Play, Kko Kko Na Ra on Tras Street, Tiramiso, a home-based tiramisu seller in Tampines West, and Chix Hot Chicken at Prinsep Street from 2 to 30 June, where a $25 dine-in spend won a Popcorn Chix or a $5 voucher. Smoobar closed out the run in July.
All three places named in the relaunch caption are still trading in October 2026. Chix Hot Chicken lists 64 Prinsep Street #01-01 and 1 Jalan Pisang on its Instagram, Big Fish Small Fish's own site lists four outlets at Bugis Junction, Suntec City, Hillion Mall and Century Square, and Tiramiso was still taking pre-orders on @tiramisosg in mid October 2026.
The caption said it plainly: people loved the first run, but the coin did not mean anything. It turned up at a new place every two weeks, so it read as a promo, not a recommendation. The relaunch rule was to treat it like a Michelin star and only put it at the best places in Singapore.
The other reason was the bill. Food here keeps getting pricier, mostly because of rent, and the quality is not going up with it. We still want to find new places, so the coin became the way we point at the ones that are worth it. Our honest take: a coin at every shop is a loyalty stamp, a coin at a handful of places a year is a recommendation, and only the second one is worth following. The first place under the new rule was Tolido's Espresso Nook, from 2 October 2025. The coin also got its own slide in our 2025 year in review.
· Follow both accounts before you order. Staff check, and it is awkward doing it at the till.
· The minimum spend is counted before GST and service charge, so read the menu prices, not the receipt total.
· Every edition has an end date and a redemption cap. Go in the first week, not the last.

Yes. Both sides win a prize. Heads is the bigger item, tails the smaller one, for example a free rösti versus a free drink.
The first run in 2025 covered Big Fish Small Fish, INMERS Play, Kko Kko Na Ra, Tiramiso, Chix Hot Chicken and Smoobar. The relaunch started at Tolido's Espresso Nook on 2 October 2025.
