This was our thank-you post for 2025, put up on 3 January 2026: a 13-slide look back at the year @eventful_sg finally broke through. Honest food reviews from the Ramadan bazaars, a physical Eventful Coin, our first giveaway with KOI Thé, and our logo on real screens at Suntec. We almost teared making it, and we meant every slide.
We have been at this since 2023. Slide two is the receipts: a random name, an AI-generated panda and, in our own words, a thoughtless font. By April 2024 we were posting urban legends from SG schools and rating dating apps, and the look was still all over the place.
The TikTok screenshots tell the same story. In December 2023, @eventfulsg had 993 followers and 21.6K likes. By the time we made this post it showed 30.5K followers and 824.2K likes. The longer version of what changed is in how EventfulSG got to 10 million monthly views, and the bit nobody sees is in our early days of ghosted DMs.
In March 2025 we started posting brutally honest food reviews, the idea being you spend your money on the right stall and skip the wrong one. The Ramadan bazaars were the first real test, with ratings of Geylang Serai Bazaar and Kampong Gelam Bazaar.
Together those reviews did about 2 million views. That was our first proper growth spurt, and it is why we went back for the Geylang Serai bazaar in 2026 too.
May 2025 was the Eventful Coin. Yes, a real, physical coin, used for our coin flip campaign. To everyone who actually went down to the places we launched it at, thank you. We still can't quite believe people did that.
June was our first ever giveaway, with KOI Thé, for their new Orh Nee drinks, running 18 to 25 June. Then came Jett Barbecue, Mr Coconut and more.
September and December were the ones that felt unreal. We were an official media partner for Hobbies Fair 2025 at Suntec Convention Centre, and in December our logo went up on the huge screen at the Singapore Cat Festival, held at Suntec Convention Centre on 13 and 14 December.
Food reviews, event videos, even the horror content: none of it goes anywhere without the people watching it. That was the whole point of the post. The last slide said it plainly, and we are keeping to it: we will always make the best content we can for you.
If you only found us recently, the blog is where every post we make ends up, written out properly.
