Thye Moh Chan's Teochew Festival runs from Monday 26 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 at the Chinatown Point Indoor Atrium, 133 New Bridge Road, open 10am to 9pm daily. Entry is free, you pay for what you eat. The bakery, handcrafting Teochew pastries since 1943, is billing this edition as over 80 Teochew items plus drinks, hands-on workshops and keepsakes, and the one thing to pre-order is the braised duck, from $38.80. Last year's edition packed the atrium. Go on a weekday morning.
The food is the point. Thye Moh Chan's own post teases the handmade steamed kuehs that used to be everyday food in Teochew homes and are now hard to find in Singapore, the pink, purple and yellow ones with peanut, bean and glutinous rice fillings. Their photos also show a chive and vegetable pancake on a banana leaf, cups of tea topped with a tiny clay teapot, and plush toys shaped like their tau sar piah and ang ku kueh. Our take: the kuehs are the reason to come, the plushies are the reason you will overspend.
The headline pre-order is the Teochew Braised Duck, slow cooked six hours, from $38.80 for a half or whole duck. Order on thyemohchan.com at least two days before your collection date, and collection is only at the festival atrium between 26 October and 1 November. If you cannot wait, the MOS Burger Teochew braised duck burger is the fast food version.
26 October to 1 November 2026, 10am to 9pm every day, in the Indoor Atrium at Chinatown Point, 133 New Bridge Road. Chinatown MRT on the North East and Downtown lines connects straight into the mall, so you never step outside. Thye Moh Chan also has a permanent shop in the same building at #01-45, open 10am to 9.30pm, for the days the festival is not on. Still hungry after the kuehs? The Sushiro at Chinatown Point is upstairs.
Yes if you grew up with these kuehs or have a grandparent who did, and yes if you have never had a proper one, because this is the easiest place in town to try six kinds in one go. The warning: handmade kuehs come in limited batches and the photo of the last edition shows the atrium wall to wall on a weekend. Weekday, before noon, you will get the full spread. Saturday 3pm you will get whatever is left and a queue. The workshops, the brand's photo shows a paint-your-own bamboo lantern kit, are the bit for kids, so plan around those if you bring any.
· Pre-order the braised duck on thyemohchan.com at least two days ahead, collection is at the festival only.
· Weekday morning for the full kueh range. Weekend afternoons are the crowd you see in the photo.
· Kuehs are best the day you buy them. Do not stockpile for the week.
· Take the Chinatown MRT exit into Chinatown Point directly, no need to cross New Bridge Road.
