What happens at #commUNITY on Campus

It is built like a mini festival on the concourse. Free multicultural workshops, a youth dialogue session, a live photobooth, and heritage food and spice stations. The Harmony Circle behind it is the MCCY-backed community platform for racial and religious harmony, renamed from the old IRCCs in July 2022, with one circle in every constituency. This is their campus edition.

The bit that got our comments going is the free drink. Walk every zone, show your stamped card, and pick a Birds of Paradise gelato, a Creamie Sippies matcha or an Each a Cup drink. It is while stocks last, and the Each a Cup is literally next door to the venue, so the gelato will go first.

Free caricatures, poems and a trivia night with a Nintendo Switch

Faizal Caricatures, the guy you have seen drawing at half of Singapore's roadshows, is doing free live caricatures. Graceful Quills types you a personalised poem on a typewriter. Both are the kind of stations that build a 30 minute queue by mid afternoon, so hit them when you arrive.

The evening finishes with a Multicultural Trivia Night. Answer correctly and you are in the running for a Nintendo Switch, Sony headphones or a digital vlog camera. Our giveaway winners get a clue for it, more on that below.

The $20 Yochi giveaway: how to enter

Ten winners each get a $20 Yochi voucher plus one trivia night clue. To enter: follow @harmonycirclesg and @eventful_sg on Instagram, then comment on our post with the activity you are most excited for at #commUNITY. One entry per person, winners picked with a random name generator. Our caption says the giveaway runs till 25 September, while the slide says 17 September, so enter before the 17th and you are covered either way.

Where is SMU T-Junction and how to get there

T-Junction is the B1 concourse under SMU's Li Ka Shing Library, 70 Stamford Road, S178901. It sits in the underground walkway between Bras Basah MRT (Circle line, exit straight into campus) and City Hall, so it is sheltered the whole way. Doors 1.30pm onwards on 18 September only. It is a Friday, so expect students between classes early on and the after-work crowd for trivia night.
