What Common Rare was, and why this edition mattered

Common Rare (凡几 in Chinese) started in Shanghai as a creative collective run by two Taiwan-born friends, Tiffany Wang and Vivian Sze, and grew into one of that city's best known lifestyle markets, the kind where you go for ceramics and leave with a tattoo. The Suntec listing said the Singapore run marked the collective's 10th anniversary and was its first edition outside China.

The pitch was 200 plus curated brands from Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Shanghai and Singapore, more than 100 of them selling here for the first time. Names on the organiser list included Malaysia's Anaabu and Futuremade Studio, Thailand's Japfac, Shanghai's Grumpy Animal Club, and Singapore labels Scent Journer, Rehyphen, Studio Yono and Hands On Film. It landed a week after Public Garden, with a similar crowd and a bigger regional mix.

What was on besides shopping

Three things people planned around. Workshops and live stations: hands-on craft sessions and live tattoo slots ran through the weekend, and the tattoo artists booked out. Food: the vendor list had PPP Coffee, Homeground Coffee Roasters, Morning, Smitten, Hello Arigato and Berrybar, so it was coffee and sandos rather than a full meal. The headline pop-up was Sundae Kids, the Bangkok illustration duo, who did live portrait drawing and sold new merch at their booth.

How much Common Rare tickets cost

From the organiser's own info page: early bird, sold 27 June to 31 August, was $5 (Friday) or $7 (Saturday and Sunday) for a Single Pass and $9 or $11 for a Bundle Pass. At the door, 1 to 20 September, a Single Pass was $7 (Friday) or $9 (weekend) and a Bundle Pass $11 or $13. A Bundle Pass admitted two people on one day, so two friends on a Saturday paid $13 instead of $18. Both gave unlimited re-entry on the chosen day.

Children 12 and under entered free with a paying adult, every admission included one exclusive edition tote bag, and well behaved pets on a leash or in a carrier were allowed inside, which is rare for a Suntec hall event. Tickets sold through Ticketmelon and Trip.com and were final, no refunds.

Will Common Rare come back to Singapore?

Nothing is announced. We checked on 5 October 2026: common-rare.com still shows the 18 to 20 September 2026 Singapore info with no new dates, its site lists no upcoming event, and @common.rare on Instagram has Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 highlights from Suntec but no word on 2027. Common Rare has run markets in Shanghai for a decade by its own count, so a second Singapore edition is plausible, but that is our read, not theirs. If it is announced, it will show up on common-rare.com and @common.rare first, and we will update this page.

The venue was Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, 1 Raffles Boulevard, with Halls 401 and 402 on Level 4. Promenade MRT (Circle and Downtown lines) is about five minutes away, or it is a ten minute sheltered walk from City Hall through CityLink Mall. Keep that in mind if it returns to the same halls.
