Common Rare, the Shanghai creative market, runs its first ever overseas edition at Suntec Singapore Hall 401 to 402 from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026, 12.30pm to 9pm daily. Door tickets are $7 on Friday and $9 on the weekend, kids 12 and under go in free, and every paid ticket comes with a tote bag.
Common Rare (凡几 in Chinese) started in Shanghai as a creative collective run by two Taiwan-born friends, Tiffany Wang and Vivian Sze. It grew into one of that city's best known lifestyle markets, the kind where you go for ceramics and leave with a tattoo. The Suntec Loop event listing says this Singapore run marks the collective's 10th anniversary and is its first edition outside China.
The pitch is 200 plus curated brands from Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Shanghai and Singapore, more than 100 of them selling here for the first time. Names on the organiser list include Malaysia's Anaabu and Futuremade Studio, Thailand's Japfac, Shanghai's Grumpy Animal Club, and Singapore labels Scent Journer, Rehyphen, Studio Yono and Hands On Film. If you did the rounds at Public Garden the weekend before, expect a similar crowd with a bigger regional mix.
Three things worth planning around. Workshops and live stations: hands-on craft sessions and live tattoo slots run through the weekend, and the tattoo artists book out, so go early on the day you want ink. Food: the organiser's vendor list has PPP Coffee, Homeground Coffee Roasters, Morning, Smitten, Hello Arigato and Berrybar, so it is coffee and sandos rather than a full meal. Eat properly first or check our Suntec food guide for the nearby options.
The pop-up we would queue for is Sundae Kids, the Bangkok illustration duo. They are doing live portrait drawing and selling new merch at their booth. Live portrait slots at events like this usually go within the first hour, so treat that as your first stop.
From the organiser's own info page, valid 1 to 20 September: Single Pass $7 (Friday) or $9 (Saturday and Sunday), Bundle Pass $11 (Friday) or $13 (Saturday and Sunday). A Bundle Pass admits two people on one day, so two friends on a Saturday pay $13 instead of $18. Both give unlimited re-entry on your chosen day. Early bird prices ($5 to $7 single) closed on 31 August.
Children 12 and under enter free with a paying adult. Every admission includes one exclusive edition tote bag, only available with a ticket. Tickets are on Ticketmelon and Trip.com and are final, no refunds. Well behaved pets on a leash or in a carrier are allowed inside, which is rare for a Suntec hall event.
Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre is at 1 Raffles Boulevard, S039593. Halls 401 and 402 are on Level 4. Nearest MRT is Promenade (Circle and Downtown lines), about a five minute walk, or Esplanade on the Circle line. From City Hall it is a ten minute walk through CityLink Mall, fully sheltered. Friday afternoon is the quietest window; Saturday from 2pm onwards is when the aisles get tight.
· Friday is $2 cheaper and far less crowded. If you can take a half day, that is the day.
· Bring your own bag for purchases anyway. The free tote is a collectible and you will not want to stuff it with ceramics.
· Cash is not needed but many regional brands only take PayNow or card, not both. Have both ready.
· Sundae Kids live portraits and the tattoo slots go first. Head there before you browse.
