CHARROU at Sentosa GrillFest 2025: The Roast Meat We Rated 9/10

CHARROU was the roast meat stall at Sentosa GrillFest 2025, cutting crackling roast pork and glazed char siew to order on Siloso Beach, and it was the first thing we told people about on opening weekend. We later scored it 9/10. The 2025 festival ran from 17 July to 10 August 2025 and is over.
Why a roast meat stall stood out at a grill festival
GrillFest is mostly smoke: Texas barbecue, skewers, burgers. CHARROU went the other way with Cantonese-style roast meats, chopped on a red board and laid out on branded paper with chilli and ginger-style dips. In a row of brisket, that was the plate people noticed.
The roast pork, for the skin. It cracked the way it should and the fat under it was rendered, not chewy. The char siew had the sticky, slightly charred glaze you want. We ordered a mixed plate and it went first, ahead of the burgers.
Our post went up on 18 July 2025, the second day of the festival, with a simple line: the GrillFest is back and here is what is good. CHARROU was the opening shot.
Did CHARROU come back to GrillFest?
We could not confirm CHARROU in the 2026 line-up. Sentosa's ninth GrillFest ran 23 July to 16 August 2026 with 42 vendors, covered in our 2026 guide. If you want roast meat on the island when there is no festival, our Sentosa food guide lists what is open all year.

Good to know
· At a festival, order roast meat to share as a side, not as your main. It goes with everything else on the table.
· Roast pork skin is best in the first few minutes. Eat it before you photograph the rest.
