Tampines 1 is the mall in Tampines Central that sits right beside the MRT and the bus interchange, which makes it the first stop for most people coming out of the station hungry. Of the three malls in the cluster it has the most food underground: 35 places on Basement 1 alone, 20 of them kiosks, around the Cold Storage and Don Don Donki.
The sit-down restaurants are on Levels 4 and 5, next to the Hawkers' Street food court. Every place below carries its unit number and, where the mall publishes it, opening hours, straight from the mall's own store directory.

Malaysian hawker stalls under one roof in the basement, food court style, so a family that cannot agree can split up and meet at one table. Cheap and quick. Its own site lists this outlet as 10am to 9pm daily, later to open and earlier to close than the mall directory says, so go with the shop's own hours.

The Hong Kong egg tart people, going since 1954 by their own account, with the cookie crust they say they pioneered. Buy a box for the train home, but eat one on the spot while it is warm. Their own site lists this outlet at #B1-24.

The halal certified sister brand of Monster Curry, by its own description: Japanese curry on plates 35cm and 41cm across, over rice or noodles, with five spice levels. One plate between two is plenty unless you are very hungry. Its own outlet page lists 11am to 10pm.

Croissants and kouign amann with proper coffee, open 8am to 10pm daily by their own locations page. That is two hours before the mall itself opens, so this is the breakfast meeting spot on Level 1. The plain croissant is the order.

Cheesecakes by the slice or whole, from the brand founded by pastry chef Daniel Tay, by their own description. This is a cake stop, not a meal: a whole cake for a birthday or a slice for the walk to the station. Their own locations page lists this outlet as a new concept store, 11am to 10pm daily.

Hong Kong dim sum on Level 1, and the baked BBQ pork bun is the one to order. Tim Ho Wan's own store list has this outlet opening at 10am on weekends and public holidays, an hour earlier than weekdays, so it works as a late breakfast. Last order is 30 minutes before closing.

Conveyor belt sushi from the chain that calls itself Japan's number one kaiten sushi brand. Kids pick plates off the belt and the bill stays sane. Sushiro's own store page lists 11am to 10pm here with last order at 9.30pm. Weekend dinner queues are long, so come before 6pm or make it a weekday.

Halal Thai food on Level 3: green curry, basil minced chicken, tom yum. A fair price for a sit-down Thai meal that a mixed group can all eat. Its own outlet list says 11am to 10pm daily here.

Cantonese roast meats, congee and dim sum, the everyday Crystal Jade rather than the banquet one. Order the roast duck or char siu with a plate of greens. Crystal Jade's own locator lists 11am to 10pm on weekdays and 10.30am at weekends, last order 9.30pm, so it is a safe bet for a late lunch.

Chongqing style grilled fish: one whole fish on a tray over a burner, in a mala broth with sides you add yourself. Built for three or four people, not a solo lunch. Pick the fish, pick the spice level, and go one level lower than you think on your first visit. The group's own site lists this outlet and takes bookings online.

Casual Italian with pasta made by hand and cooked to order, by their own description, and halal certified. The easy sit-down pasta choice for a mixed group with kids. Opens 11.30am by their outlet page, so it is lunch and dinner only.

Beef pepper rice on a sizzling iron plate that you stir yourself. Halal certified, fast, and about the right price for a solo lunch. Walk-in only, no table reservations, by their own outlet page, with last order at 9.30pm.

Herbal roast duck, marinated in Chinese herbs and roasted fresh daily by their own description. One duck in the middle of the table feeds a family of four with a soup and a vegetable. Their outlet page has last orders at 9pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30pm Friday to Sunday, and takes bookings online.

The food court on Level 5, built around hawker brands brought in from around Singapore, by its own description. The cheapest sit-down meal in the building and the easiest with a tray and a toddler. Its own site gives the units as #05-05/06/07 and the hours as 9am to 9pm daily, half an hour later than the mall directory, so do not count on breakfast before 9.

Plant-based Korean food, halal certified, on Level 5: bibimbap, stews and Korean style fried bites, all without meat. Its own site says 11.30am to 9.30pm with last order at 8.45pm, which is early for a mall restaurant, so do not arrive at 9 expecting dinner.
The 15 above are the ones we would send a friend to. For completeness, here is the rest of Tampines 1's food directory, 64 more places, 79 in total. 12 of the 79 are halal certified. Unit numbers and halal certification come from Tampines 1's own store directory and are re-checked daily, last on 7 October 2026. Opening hours are the ones the directory publishes and change without notice.

Take the train to Tampines station (EW2 on the East West Line, DT32 on the Downtown Line). The mall's own site says it sits next to the MRT interchange and the Tampines Bus Interchange, so it is the first of the three Tampines Central malls you reach from the station.
The mall runs 10am to 10pm daily. Shops set their own hours inside that. By the mall's own directory, Toast Box at #B1-16 opens at 7.30am, Tiong Bahru Bakery at #01-19/20, Killiney Coffee Cafe at #04-K02 and Mei Kee Bakery at #B1-29 at 8am, and Hawkers' Street on Level 5 lists 8.30am on the directory but 9am on its own site.
Yes. Hawkers' Street at #05-06 on Level 5 is the food court, 9am to 9pm daily by its own site. Malaysia Boleh at #B1-05/06 in the basement is a Malaysian street food hall that works the same way, with separate stalls and shared tables, 10am to 9pm by its own site.
Yes. 12 of the 79 places to eat at Tampines 1 are flagged halal certified in the mall's own store directory: 4FINGERS Crispy Chicken, Délifrance, Mamma Mia Trattoria E Caffè, Mei Kee Bakery, Monster Planet, Namu Bulgogi, Pepper Lunch, Pezzo, rrooll, Sanook Kitchen, Saute Saranghae and Subway. We re-check that list daily, but certification is the shop's to hold, so look for the certificate at the counter if it matters to you.
Basement 1. It has 35 of the 79 places to eat, and 20 of those are kiosks: buns, dango, bubble tea, donuts, fried snacks and bakeries. For a cheap sit-down meal, Hawkers' Street on Level 5 or Malaysia Boleh in the basement.
They are three separate malls a few minutes apart in Tampines Central. Tampines 1 is the one right beside the MRT and bus interchange, with Cold Storage and Don Don Donki by its own description. Tampines Mall is the oldest, opened in 1995, with the cinema and the Kopitiam food court. Century Square is the third, close to the MRT and bus interchange too by its own site, and it is the late-night one: its own directory lists SUKIYA, Texas Chicken and The Coffee Bean at 24 hours and HaiDiLao till 4am. People walk between all three in one trip.
Yes. The mall's own site names Cold Storage and Don Don Donki among its tenants.
