Persian food cooked over coals: kebabs, rice dishes, mezze and dips. Two things to know before you go. It is closed on Mondays, and their own reservation page says card and PayNow only, so do not count on paying cash.

Dempsey Hill is where you go for a long brunch, a big seafood dinner or a proper night out in the old army barracks off Holland Road. This guide lists 15 places in block-number order, from PS.Cafe on Harding Road through Blocks 7 to 26 on Dempsey Road and out to Loewen Road, plus Adam Food Centre for when you want hawker prices instead.
There is no MRT stop inside Dempsey. Napier and Botanic Gardens are the nearest stations on the map; COMO's own page suggests Orchard or Farrer Road and a taxi, and Dempsey Hill runs its own shuttle bus from Orchard, the Botanic Gardens and Holland Village. Driving or a Grab is the easy way in, because the blocks are spread across a hill and the walks between them are longer than they look on a map.
Opening hours below come from each venue's own site, checked on 15 October 2026, and where a place does not publish them we say so. None of the restaurants in Dempsey is on MUIS's halal list, so the halal question is answered in the FAQ at the bottom.
One of the earlier venues in Dempsey Hill, by its own site, open since 2005, with floor-to-ceiling windows onto the trees. Brunch runs from 8am on weekdays until 11am and all the way to 4pm at weekends, which their own page spells out. Weekend mornings are the busy slot, so reserve through their concierge line or come early.
Wood-fired barbecue cooked at the counter, and a table you book well ahead. Their site lists lunch only Thursday to Saturday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday. The cocktail bar next door at #01-04 stays open until 1am, or 2am on Saturday, which makes it the late option in Dempsey.

All-day food plus a gourmet grocery, cheese room and bakery under one roof. It opens at 8am every day and calls itself pet-friendly, so bring the dog. Good for a casual breakfast after a walk in the Botanic Gardens.
The PS.Cafe group's Anglo-Chinese restaurant, which its own page calls bold, nostalgic and lightly playful Chinese food. Note the gap in the afternoon: from 4pm to 6pm the kitchen serves dim sum only. Order the crispy duck pockets and the salted caramel profiterole to finish.

A dining room at Dempsey, with a menu of familiar flavours reworked, such as an Iberico sate secreto and mochi churros. It opens at 11am on weekends and runs straight through to dinner, so it suits a late lunch when other kitchens are on their break.

Peranakan food from chef Malcolm Lee, and COMO's own page calls it the world's first Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant. The Ah-ma-kase set is the way to try a bit of everything, and the buah keluak is the dish to judge it by. Book ahead for dinner.
Osaka-style tempura fried in front of you at the counter. COMO's page says Ippoh was founded in 1850 and this is its first outlet in Southeast Asia. It opens for lunch every day.
Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Singapore restaurant, opened 2017, French cooking with citrus and chilli heat. Weekend brunch runs 11.30am to 3.30pm, and dinner goes until midnight on Friday and Saturday, the latest kitchen at COMO.
A butcher with its own bistro, so the steak and sausages come from the counter a few metres away. The bistro is closed on Mondays, but the butchery is open daily. Their site says parking at the building is free, which is not something you can say about most of Dempsey.

The seafood restaurant for a family dinner with crabs. Long Beach's own menu bills its black pepper crab as the original, so that is the one to order, with chilli crab for the table that wants both. Weekend hours run straight through from 11am, so a late lunch works here.
The casual, cheaper end of Dempsey, at Dempsey Road since the 1970s by its own history page. It says the founder started at a stall on Tank Road in the 1960s, and it is still family-run. Fish head curry and banana leaf rice are the order. It is closed on Tuesdays and breaks between 3pm and 6pm.
Massimo Bottura's Italian restaurant, styled after the Italian Riviera in the 1960s. COMO's page says it is his first in Asia. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan around that, and there is a lunch special menu if you want a lighter first visit.
Handmade chocolate from a studio on Loewen Road, the quieter side of the hill. It is a shop and chocolate school rather than a dessert cafe, with bars, bonbons and gift boxes to take away and workshops if you want to make your own. A good stop on the way out after dinner.
When you want hawker prices, this is the closest food centre to Dempsey, a short drive or Grab away. The government's hawker centre dataset lists 32 cooked food stalls, and the nasi lemak at Selera Rasa is the famous queue. Stalls keep their own hours, and the morning is the safest time.
Dempsey Hill runs a shuttle bus with pick-up points behind Wheelock Place near Orchard MRT Exit 11, at the Botanic Gardens' Tanglin and Nassim gates, and at Holland Village MRT. COMO Dempsey also lists buses 7, 75, 77, 105, 106, 123 and 174 along Holland Road. Check the shuttle schedule on dempseyhill.com before you go.
Huber's lists free parking and COMO lists complimentary parking; other blocks have their own lots.
None of the Dempsey restaurants appear on MUIS's halal directory when we checked on 15 October 2026. Adam Food Centre, a short drive away, has Muslim-run stalls, so look for the MUIS certificate at each counter.
The Burnt Ends cocktail bar stays open until 1am Tuesday to Friday and 2am on Saturday and the eve of public holidays. The Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar serves dinner until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Samy's Curry on Block 25 is the casual, cheaper sit-down option on the hill, with banana leaf rice and fish head curry. For hawker prices, Adam Food Centre is a short drive away.
PS.Cafe Harding Road and The Dempsey Project both open at 8am every day. The Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar does brunch from 11.30am to 3.30pm on weekends and public holidays.
