Swee Choon, 183 to 193 Jalan Besar (Jalan Besar MRT). Sunday to Thursday 7am to 2am, last order 1.30am; Friday, Saturday and the eve of public holidays 7am to 4am, last order 3.30am. Shanghai dim sum, hand-pulled noodles and zi char. Order more than you think. Our earlier supper after 10pm list has earlier options too.

Ah Chew Desserts, 1 Liang Seah Street, #01-10/11 (Bugis MRT). To midnight Monday to Thursday and Sunday, to 1am Friday and Saturday. For when supper means something sweet. More in our dessert spots list.

Al Majlis, 452 Serangoon Road (Farrer Park MRT). Daily 11am to 3am. Local and western plates, chilli crab and a seafood shell-out. Al Majlis does not state its halal status on its site, so check MUIS if you need to. The same 3am hours apply at Blk 166 Bukit Batok West Avenue 8, #01-252, and 513 Yishun Street 51, and the Tampines outlet at 742A Tampines Street 72 is open 24 hours.

Balestier Bak Kut Teh, 365 and 369 Balestier Road (Novena or Toa Payoh MRT, both about 900m). Open 24 hours, every day, on Balestier Road since 1966 by its own account. Pork ribs, so not halal. Open 24 hours, so a safe 4am bet.

City and the south

Milli Sky Dining and Bar, Level 6, City Hall Wing, National Gallery Singapore (City Hall MRT). Sunday to Tuesday to 1am, Wednesday to Friday to 3am, Saturday and the eve of public holidays to 4am. plates and cocktails on a rooftop. The grown-up supper.

Overscoop, 55 Tanjong Pagar Road (Maxwell MRT) and CQ @ Clarke Quay, 3A River Valley Road, #01-01 (Clarke Quay MRT). 2pm to 1.30am. Waffles, croffles and gelato; last orders 15 to 30 minutes before closing.

North and North-East

Swee Choon Express AMK, AMK Hub, 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #01-42, at the taxi stand (Ang Mo Kio MRT). Monday 10.30am to midnight, Tuesday to Friday 10.30am to 2am, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 2am, last order 1.30am. The heartland Swee Choon, no Jalan Besar trip needed. Udders, 246D Upper Thomson Road (Upper Thomson MRT). Friday and Saturday 11am to 1am, other nights to 11pm. Ice cream, not a meal.

West and East

Springleaf Prata Place NEWest, 1 West Coast Drive, #01-108/109 (about 900m from Clementi MRT). Open 24 hours. Springleaf says it is a halal caterer; the outlets are on MUIS's register. It lists a first-Monday closure for Jalan Tua Kong and SAFRA Tampines only; NEWest is listed as 24 hours. Get the chicken floss prata it calls famous.

Swee Choon Changi Airport T2, 60 Airport Boulevard, #01-07, Terminal 2 (Changi Airport MRT). 24 hours daily. For the red-eye flight or the night shift out east.
