Five more student deals worth the card: PlayMade at $3.50 a drink, PastaMania from $5.50 a meal, Tuk Tuk Cha from $7.90, Yoshinoya from $8.50 for a bowl and a drink, and Big Fish Small Fish from $8.50 with a free drink and free-flow chips. Every one needs a valid student pass, and every one is weekdays only with a cut-off time. That last part is where people get turned away.
PlayMade, $3.50 a drink, and you can pick from the bestsellers, not a stripped-down list. Weekdays 2pm to 5pm. Big Fish Small Fish, from $8.50 a meal with a free drink and free-flow chips, weekdays. Yoshinoya, from $8.50, one bowl plus one drink. PastaMania, from $5.50, weekdays until 6pm, and this one has an age condition: below 23. Tuk Tuk Cha, from $7.90, before 6pm on weekdays, with Thai milk tea as a $2.80 add-on. This is a follow-on to our first student meal deals round-up, which covered Pizza Hut, Hot Tomato, Buddy Hoagies, ROYCE' and RedTail.
Every one of these is a weekday, off-peak deal. PlayMade is 2pm to 5pm, PastaMania and Tuk Tuk Cha both stop at 6pm. That is not an accident: chains discount the hours they cannot fill, and students are the group with a free 3pm. Which means the practical move is stacking them around a timetable gap rather than trying to use one at 7pm and getting refused at the counter.
All five ask for a valid student pass. A photo of it on your phone gets rejected more often than not, and a matriculation card that expired in June is not a student pass. PastaMania's below-23 condition is the one people miss: a mature student with a valid card still does not qualify. Terms move without notice, so check the outlet's own posting before you build a lunch plan around a price.
