Five student food deals we would actually use in Singapore: Pizza Hut sets from $5.90, Hot Tomato mains at $10.50 to $14.50 nett with a free drink, Buddy Hoagies from $11.50, $3 off ROYCE' chocolate on Wednesdays, and student pours at RedTail Bar by Zouk. Every one needs a physical student card, and four of the five stop at or before 5.30pm on weekdays, which is the part people keep getting wrong.
Pizza Hut is the cheapest entry point. Meals start at $5.90 on weekdays from 11am to 5pm, and you show your student card at the counter. Worth knowing before you queue: Pizza Hut's own posts have limited the student set to students up to Polytechnic, JC and ITE level, so if you are in university, ask first rather than assuming. If you are chasing the non-food student discounts too, we ran through SIA fares, Adobe and free Microsoft 365 separately.
Hot Tomato is the one we would send most people to. Their own site lists the Student Lunch Special at $10.50 nett to $14.50 nett per person, weekdays 11am to 5.30pm, across five mains: NZ Grass Fed Sirloin, Carbonara, Chicken Chop, Chicken Chop and Fish, and Fish and Chips. A free glass of lemon iced tea, fresh lime juice or Coke comes with it. Nett means the price on the board is the price you pay, no service charge or GST bolted on after, which is rarer than it sounds at a sit-down western place.

Buddy Hoagies rounds it out at $11.50 for a main on weekdays until 4pm, with the rosti set at $14. Their outlets open at 11.30am, so the window is genuinely tight. It is the priciest of the three, but the portions are why people bother, and with eight outlets across the island there is usually one near enough.

ROYCE' does $3 off every Wednesday with a student pass, capped at five items. On boxed nama chocolate that is a real cut per box, and the five-item cap is more than anyone needs in one trip. ROYCE' does not publish the deal on their website, so treat it as a counter thing: bring the card, ask at the till, do not turn up on a Tuesday expecting it.
RedTail Bar by Zouk at 3C River Valley Road runs the loosest one of the lot. What we found was a $22 liquid buffet for students from 9pm to 11pm on Wednesdays plus $5 house pours through the night, on a student pass and an ID card. Zouk's own listings put the standard liquid buffet at $28 from 7pm, so the student rate is a Wednesday counter deal rather than something printed on the website. This is alcohol, so it is 18 and over and they will check the ID, not just the student card.
The failure modes are boring and identical everywhere. You need the physical student card, not a photo of it and not a school email. The deals are weekday only, and public holidays are out. Most are dine-in, so a takeaway order at 4.55pm may be refused on both counts. And the timings are earlier than people assume: Pizza Hut ends at 5pm, Hot Tomato at 5.30pm, Buddy Hoagies at 4pm. If you finish class at 5, the only one still standing is RedTail, and that is a different kind of evening. Prices and terms on all five move without notice, so check the outlet's own page the morning you go.
· Carry the physical student card. Every one of these needs it at the counter and a photo on your phone usually does not pass.
· Hot Tomato's prices are nett, so $10.50 is what leaves your account. Compare that against the +10% and GST at other western places before deciding it is expensive.
· Buddy Hoagies outlets only open at 11.30am and the deal ends at 4pm. That is a four and a half hour window, the tightest of the five.
· ROYCE' is Wednesdays only and capped at five items, so plan the gifting run around one trip.
Of the five here, Pizza Hut is cheapest, with student meals from $5.90 on weekdays between 11am and 5pm when you show a student card.

No. All five run on weekdays only and are not valid on public holidays. Most also end by 5pm or 5.30pm, so they are lunch and late-afternoon deals rather than dinner ones.
