Food first, because that is the reason most of us cross. Chagee is at L2-K11, and there is Palates & Bagels, Crab Bro Noodle House and Roast & Coffee, plus Souper Tang at L2-20 and Kay's Steak & Lobster at L1-02. Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Japan's big drugstore chain, has a full outlet for the skincare run, and there is a Daiso and a KKV for the stationery people. Anytime Fitness sits at L4-01, and the Jungle Gym indoor playground is the family anchor.

The Sheraton connection is the actual selling point. If you are doing a two-day JB trip with kids, sleeping above the mall and never touching the Causeway traffic twice in a day is worth more than any single shop in it. What the comments said, honestly

"The mall is 1/5 the size of Mid Valley, like Sun Plaza but three floors higher. The top floors are massage and hair places." That was the most detailed comment and it matches what we saw. It is a neighbourhood mall with a hotel on top, not a Mid Valley or a Mall of Medini. "Malls are mostly the same template" is the other honest one.

The practical complaint was parking: on weekends the hotel and the mall share one car park with no reserved hotel bays, so guests were circling. Go on a weekday if you are driving, or take a Grab from the checkpoint and skip it.

Is it worth the trip

On its own, no. As a base for a JB weekend, yes, because the Sheraton is new, the mall gives you breakfast, a pharmacy and a playground downstairs, and the checkpoint is ten minutes away. Pair it with the older JB spots for the actual shopping and eating.
