Lau Pa Sat's World Cup 2026 Watch Party: Two 130-inch Screens and 24-Hour Hawker Stalls

Lau Pa Sat's World Cup 2026 Watch Party: Two 130-inch Screens and 24-Hour Hawker Stalls

Lau Pa Sat screened every match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup from 12 June to 20 July 2026 on two 130-inch screens, free, first come first seated, with eight stalls open 24 hours so the 3am kickoffs came with chicken rice. That run is over, Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in the final, and this is the record of how the best free screening in the CBD worked.

This one has finished.

It ran until 20 July 2026. We keep the page up because people still search for it and the details are worth having, but do not make the trip on the strength of this article. For what is actually on right now, see things to do this weekend.

How the screening worked

Two 130-inch screens inside the hawker centre, every match live, no ticket and no minimum spend. The 24-hour stalls were Chef Lup Roasted Delights, Teo Chew Mui, Fu Xiao Fish Soup, Seng Kee's Hokkien fried prawn noodles, Fragrance Garden chicken rice, Lion City dim sum, Thunder Tea Rice and The Kopi Kiosk. One catch our carousel flagged: no alcohol from 3am to 6am, which covered a lot of the group-stage kickoffs.

For the full list of where Singapore watched, and how the tournament ended, our World Cup screenings roundup has it.

Why it worked better than the bars

Free seats, hawker prices and a 24-hour kitchen beat a $15 pint and a cover charge for anyone watching a 3am game on a weeknight. The downside was the same as always at Lau Pa Sat after midnight: the satay street side gets loud and the seats near the screens went an hour before kickoff for the big matches. Lau Pa Sat has done this for previous tournaments too, so if you are planning for the next one, get there early and eat before the anthem.

Good to know

· For the next tournament: arrive an hour early for any knockout match. The screen-side tables go first.

· The 24-hour stalls are the reason to pick this over a bar. Eat at halftime, not before kickoff.

· No alcohol 3am to 6am was the rule this time. Assume it again.

· Raffles Place MRT, Exit I, and it is a 4-minute walk.
