How to get to the Hougang Pasar Malam

Take the North East Line to Hougang MRT and use Exit B. The field is right there, so you are eating within two minutes of tapping out. Hougang Central bus interchange is next door too, which makes it easy from Sengkang, Punggol and Serangoon.

When to go

It opened at noon, which most pasar malams do not. That made weekday afternoons the quiet window, before the after-work crowd showed up from about 6pm.

Our photos were taken in late afternoon light, with the tables mostly empty. That is the slot we would pick again: food stalls fully running, no queue, and still bright enough to see what you are eating.
