The four haunted houses

Karang Guni: The Cursed Collection is the centrepiece. USS describes it as a heartland icon reimagined as the keeper of a cursed shophouse, so expect cluttered rooms of old junk where every object carries something. Singapore's Most Haunted: ON AIR is an abandoned broadcast studio replaying the country's darkest legends on loop, which is the house we would queue for first. Chatterbox Charlie's Vaudeville Horrors is a twisted puppet-master theatre with optical illusions, and Made in Hell: XL Robotics is a bioengineering lab chasing artificial immortality.

Two local houses out of four is a big shift from the years HHN leaned on Western horror licences. If you have been skipping since the pandemic, this is the year the Singapore stuff came back. For what USS is building next door in daylight, here is what we know about Super Nintendo World.

Scare zones and the shows

The Raveyard is a neon cemetery full of undead partygoers, basically a rave for the dead, and Necropolis: The Serpent's Crossroads is an Egyptian underworld ruled by a soul eater called Sasu. Both are open ground, so you walk through them between houses, no way around it.

The Scaremony is the opening show that releases the scares into the park each night, and it is worth being at the gate for 7.30pm to catch it. The other two shows are Club PanDEMONium, a specialty-acts show with dark humour, and Nail the Beat, a supernatural music set with HamiKuma and Ponti-Ana.

Peak vs non-peak nights and ticket prices

Non-peak nights: 25 and 26 September, then 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 15 and 16 October. Peak nights: 10, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 October, and 1 November. That is nine of each, 18 nights total. A standard ticket is $68 non-peak and $78 peak, and Mastercard holders pay $63 and $73.

Express Pass is $89 and Express PLUS is $119 on top of admission, and on a peak Saturday the Express line is the difference between doing all four houses and doing two. The Frequent Fear Pass is $156 for unlimited nights ($148 with Mastercard), Frights for Two is $250, and the R.I.P. Tour is $290. Buy off the RWS site directly; the peak Saturdays in late October sell out.

Who should go

USS says the event is not recommended for children under 13, and they mean it: the houses are tight, dark and the actors get close. No costume masks are allowed. If you have younger kids, the daytime Trick or Thrills runs 1 September to 1 November 2026 in the park with Minions in Halloween costumes and a Kuromi meet, which is the version for them.

Go on a non-peak Thursday or Friday in early October if you can. Same houses, $10 cheaper, and the lines are half the length of the last two weekends.
