Christmas Day 2026 falls on Friday 25 December, a public holiday, so most people get a three-day weekend from 25 to 27 December. Confirmed for those dates: the Great Christmas Village on Orchard Road (open to 10.30pm at Shaw House on 25 and 26 December), the Gardens by the Bay Christmas Train Show (9am to 9pm), A Universal Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore, and Handel's Messiah at the Esplanade on 26 and 27 December.
Christmas Eve: Thursday 24 December, a normal working day. Christmas Day: Friday 25 December, public holiday. Weekend: Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 December.

Christmas Eve warm-up, Thursday 24 December
The Great Christmas Eve Street Party closes Orchard Road from Paterson junction (ION Orchard) to Bideford junction (Ngee Ann City), 6pm to 2am, with the party itself 8pm to 12.15am. Free. The Great Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City and Shaw House stays open until 1am, and the Hilton Singapore Orchard 3D projection show runs 7pm to 12.30am instead of the usual 10pm.

Christmas Train Show, Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay. 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, 9am to 9pm. Model trains run past scenes of the US, two SMRT trains and redesigned MRT stations, and Santa's hometown Rovaniemi. Flower Dome admission applies.
Season of Joy, Resorts World Sentosa. 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. A Universal Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore has a 10-metre Confectionery Christmas tree on Hollywood Boulevard, Santa meet-and-greets and snowfall moments. Glowcean Wonderland is at Singapore Oceanarium, K-Wave Christmas at Adventure Cove Waterpark, and the free WEAVE stage has carols and weekend jazz.

Eating out on the long weekend
Christmas Day lunch is the busiest meal of the year for hotel buffets, and many need prepayment. Prices and seatings are in our Christmas buffet guide.
