The Merdeka edition of the Seek & Keep Artisan Market runs until Sunday 30 August 2026 at the Main Concourse, Ground Floor of Bangsar Shopping Centre, 285 Jalan Maarof. It is open 10am to 10pm daily and entry is free. Over 40 local booths, plus free batik and flower-painting workshops and live jazz across the closing weekend.
Over 40 local booths and brands filling the Main Concourse, weighted to handmade and heritage rather than mass-produced stall goods. Names on the floor include Qlangi, GAYA, Heritaste, The Backstitch, Organic Shop Malaysia and My Urban Roots, and the mix runs across snacks, clothes, jewellery, accessories and plants. It is a Merdeka-themed run, so expect the batik and heritage-craft side to be heavier than usual.
Two programmes on the closing weekend. Saturday 29 August, 5pm: a duet and band performance by Janet Lee and Reza Salleh, with the WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble also on the bill. Sunday 30 August, 2pm to 4pm: a batik painting workshop. There is also a national flower painting activity for kids running through the market. All of it is free, and all of it is on the same concourse, so you do not have to hunt for a separate room.
The market sits on the ground floor concourse, so it is a short walk from every entrance and you can do it in under an hour if you are focused. The trap is going at 7pm on the last Saturday, which is both the jazz slot and dinner rush. Late morning on a weekday is the version where you can actually talk to the makers, which is the only real reason to shop a market like this instead of buying online.
· Last day is Sunday 30 August 2026. Doors are 10am to 10pm, free entry.
· Janet Lee and Reza Salleh play Saturday 29 August at 5pm. Get there by 4.45pm for a spot near the front.
· The batik workshop is Sunday 30 August, 2pm to 4pm, and it is free.
· Bring some cash. Small makers at BSC take QR pay, but cash still moves the queue faster.
