How the DIY affogato works

You pick one gelato and one hot pour, then pour it yourself. The gelato comes in vanilla, pistachio, matcha and chocolate, and the pours are espresso, matcha and chocolate, so there are 12 combinations before you even get to the drinks.

The fun part is the order of operations. Matcha on chocolate gelato tastes nothing like espresso on matcha, and you will want to try at least two. KL has been on a run of new TRX openings lately, including Yo-Chi, coming to TRX this December.

Where AiFOKATO came from

The Exchange TRX describes AiFOKATO as a dessert cafe brand inspired by Florence's affogato culture and Korean cafe culture, with the tagline "A Perfect Moment". In Singapore it runs as a takeaway spin-off from the team behind Tofu G gelato, at 111 Telok Ayer Street near Telok Ayer MRT.

The Singapore one is a grab-and-go counter for the CBD lunch crowd. TRX is a mall, so expect a weekend queue instead.
