10. Vän Kafé
The sit-down cafe on the Jurong Gateway side, with coffee, pastries and Asian fusion plates in a Scandinavian-looking room. Closed on Mondays, and it stays open later than most cafes, to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Jurong East's best-known hawker food is not at Jurong East MRT. It is in Yuhua, around Jurong East Street 24 and Avenue 1, where five stalls and shops were on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list when we checked in October 2026. The sixth, MP Thai, is by the MRT. The nearest station for the Yuhua five is Chinese Garden MRT, four to ten minutes on foot.
So this guide runs in two halves. First Yuhua, starting from Yuhua Village market and ending at Joo Siah's bak kut teh. Then the Jurong Gateway side by Jurong East MRT and the Chinese Garden, for cafes, a Thai Bib Gourmand and halal picks. Westgate and IMM have their own mall guides, linked at the bottom.
We checked hours and addresses on 15 October 2026 against each venue's own site or socials, Michelin's listings, NEA's hawker centre list or JTC's stall list. Where a stall publishes nothing, the entry says so.
Two of the six Bib Gourmands in this guide are in this one market, which makes it the one stop to start with. Go early in the day: popular hawker stalls can sell out and close before their posted time.
Laksa and prawn mee, on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list when we checked. Start with the laksa. It is a simple stall with a short menu, which is exactly what you want from a laksa stall.
Char siew and wanton noodles, also on the Bib Gourmand list when we checked. Michelin says to come early before the food runs out.
A zi char style curry fish head and fish shop in the coffee shop next door to Yuhua Village market, on the Bib Gourmand list when we checked. Bring friends and share.
The prata and Indian Muslim food shop at Blk 253, tagged halal in the Yuhua directory. We found no MUIS listing, so treat it as halal-friendly.
A heartland cafe that opens at 2pm and, per its Instagram bio, runs to 1am, which makes it Yuhua's dessert and coffee stop after dinner. Waffles and cakes are the draw. Check their page before a late visit, they post closures there.
The second Yuhua market, on Avenue 1 and closer to Chinese Garden MRT than Yuhua Village. It is quieter than its neighbour and home to the Teochew kueh stall below.
Handmade Teochew kueh like soon kueh, on the Bib Gourmand list when we checked. Ask for them pan-fried if you want a crisp edge. Kueh is breakfast food, so come in the morning.
Peppery Teochew-style bak kut teh a few minutes from Chinese Garden MRT, on the Bib Gourmand list when we checked. Their own ordering site listed the pork ribs soup at $8.50 when we looked, with braised dishes and sides to share if you come as a group.

The sit-down cafe on the Jurong Gateway side, with coffee, pastries and Asian fusion plates in a Scandinavian-looking room. Closed on Mondays, and it stays open later than most cafes, to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
A Thai restaurant in an office tower that sits on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list, which Michelin has listed in 2024, 2025 and 2026. It is the sit-down pick for a group dinner near the MRT.
Halal-certified pasta with local twists, according to Jem's own guide, from laksa olio to sambal seafood.
NParks describes Eden as halal bites at Pagoda Plaza. Pair a meal here with a walk around the gardens. A calmer lunch than anywhere on Jurong Gateway.
A pet-friendly restaurant at the old Grand Arch in Chinese Garden, per NParks. The pick if you are bringing the dog along for a garden walk and want a proper sit-down meal after.
Artisanal scoops in the Japanese Garden's Sunken Garden, per NParks. A good reason to cross the bridge from the Chinese Garden on a hot afternoon.
Chinese Garden MRT. Joo Siah Bak Koot Teh is about 4 minutes away on foot, Yuhua Market & Hawker Centre about 6, and Yuhua Village Market & Food Centre about 10. From Jurong East MRT they are 20 to 30 minutes on foot, or a short bus ride.
When we checked in October 2026: Heng Heng Cooked Food and Fei Fei Roasted Noodle at Yuhua Village Market & Food Centre, Zai Shun Curry Fish Head at Blk 253, Lai Heng Handmade Teochew Kueh at Yuhua Market & Hawker Centre, Joo Siah Bak Koot Teh at Blk 349, and MP Thai at Vision Exchange.
Yes. Jem's own guide lists Twyst (#B1-K14) as halal-certified, NParks describes Eden as halal bites at Pagoda Plaza, and Al-Sara's Prata House at Blk 253 is tagged halal in the Yuhua directory. Check the certificate at the counter if it matters to you.
Hearty Cafe at 262 Jurong East St 24 says on its Instagram that it runs to 1am, and Vän Kafé at Jurong Gateway stays open to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Most hawker stalls here close by the evening.
MP Thai at Vision Exchange is a sit-down dinner near the MRT. For a charcoal mookata buffet in Jurong West, one stop from Lakeside MRT, Family Mookata's Jurong West outlet at Blk 429 Jurong West Ave 1 takes table bookings on Eventful Tables: https://www.eventful-sg.com/tables-family-mookata-jurong
No, both have their own Eventful guides with every food shop listed, linked at the bottom of this page.
