Every Yakult Flavour, Rated: Orange Only Gets 3/10

Every Yakult Flavour, Rated: Orange Only Gets 3/10

We drank every Yakult flavour on sale in Singapore and scored them. Original takes it at 10/10, Grape is 9, Green Apple and Ace Light both get 8, Gold gets 6, and Orange lands at 3, which is roughly why it is the one getting removed.

The scores

Original, 10/10. Literally zero complaints. Nothing about it needs improving and nothing about it has changed in decades. Everything else on this list is judged against it.

Grape, 9/10. Elite. If you grew up fighting your siblings for a specific bottle in the assorted pack, it was this one.

Green Apple, 8/10. One of the best in the pack. Tart enough to feel like a different drink rather than original with colouring.

Yakult Ace Light, 8/10. Less sweet, and it feels like the healthier one, which may or may not be the point of drinking Yakult.

Gold, 6/10. Original but healthier, basically. Fine. Not the one you reach for.

Orange, 3/10. It is getting removed for a reason. It never sat right against the cultured base, and it was always the bottle left behind in the assorted pack.

Orange is actually gone

This is not us being harsh about a flavour that is still on shelves. Yakult Singapore stopped producing orange at the end of June 2026 and replaced it with peach in the assorted packs, a capacity decision at the Singapore factory. The full story is in our Yakult peach explainer, including launch dates and prices.

So the 3/10 is a farewell score. Plenty of people online disagreed with the decision, which is fair, and plenty more admitted they had not bought an orange one on purpose in years.

What we would actually buy

Assorted pack if there are kids in the house, because the variety is the point. Original 5-pack if it is only you, because you will end up drinking that one anyway. Ace Light if the sugar bothers you, and it is the only one on this list where the trade-off is worth it.

Good to know

· Assorted packs changed line-up in July 2026. If you are buying for someone who wants orange, it is not in there any more.

· Chill them properly. Yakult at fridge-door temperature tastes noticeably sweeter and worse.

· Ace Light is in a different bottle shape, so it is easy to miss on the shelf.

FAQs

What is the best Yakult flavour?

Original, on our scoring. It gets 10/10 and every other flavour is measured against it. Grape is the best of the flavoured ones at 9/10.

Which Yakult flavour is being discontinued?

Orange. Yakult Singapore ceased production at the end of June 2026 and replaced it with peach.

Is Yakult Ace Light worth it?

We gave it 8/10. It is less sweet than the original and the trade-off is smaller than most reduced-sugar versions of anything.

What is the difference between Yakult and Yakult Gold?

Gold is the same original taste with a lower sugar formulation. We scored it 6/10, so it is fine, just not the one we reach for.
