Potager KL: The L'Entrecote Steak Set at Bamboo Hills

Potager KL: The L'Entrecote Steak Set at Bamboo Hills

L'Entrecote de Potager is the steak arm of Potager KL at Unit P11, Bamboo Hills, Segambut, and it serves exactly one thing: a set built around a single cut of beef sirloin with a Cafe de Paris style sauce finished at your table. We ate it on day four of nine filming in Malaysia, three courses with soup, bread, salad, steak and fries, and it came to RM250, about S$76.

What is in the set

Potager's own page describes the meal as one cut of premium beef sirloin, grilled and finished tableside with their Cafe de Paris style house sauce, served with handmade fries and a farm-to-table garden green salad, then house-made desserts to close. The fries get hand-cut, blanched and double-fried, which is the difference between a fry that stays crisp through a long meal and one that goes limp by the third bite.

The steak itself was genuinely good, and that is the whole review. This is not a menu you browse, it is one dish done the same way every service, which is the point of the L'entrecote format in Paris. If you want the cheap end of the same trip, we also ate RM12 ayam gepuk at a roadside gerai two days before this.

What it costs, and what the site does not tell you

Ours came to RM250 a head. Potager does not publish prices anywhere on its website, and its menus are download-only PDFs, so treat our number as what we paid in August 2026 rather than a fixed rate. Ask when you book if the number matters to you.

Is RM250 a lot for steak in KL? Yes, by KL standards. It is also roughly what one main course costs at a Singapore steakhouse before you have ordered sides, so the maths is different depending on which currency your salary is in. Coming from Singapore it reads as good value, and it is the reason a lot of KL fine dining fills up with Singaporean weekend tables.

Getting there, hours and booking

Unit No P11, Bamboo Hills, Taman Bamboo, Segambut, 51200 Kuala Lumpur. Bamboo Hills sits along the DUKE Highway with Jalan Ipoh to the east and Jalan Kuching to the west, so it is a short drive out from the city centre rather than a walk from anywhere. Grab both ways is the sane plan.

The useful detail most listings miss: L'entrecote de Potager takes walk-ins. Lunch is 12pm to 3pm, dinner is 6pm to 10pm, open daily. Potager, the tasting menu restaurant in the same building, is reservations only, and the Oeno wine lounge runs 5pm to 10.30pm and also takes walk-ins. Bookings and enquiries go through potagerkl.com, bonjour@potagerkl.com or +6 012 623 3152.

This is day four of our nine-day Malaysia trip. Day one was why we are covering Malaysia at all, and day three was smash burgers at REXKL.
