PÖONSTI Owen Road: The Weekend Evening Grill House Menu
PÖONSTI at 127 Owen Road switches to a separate grill house menu on weekend evenings, and when we went it ran Saturday and Sunday, 6pm to 8.30pm only. It is a rosti shop by day, so the evening tray is the version most people never see: rosti alongside grilled meats, sausages, mac and cheese and slaw.
What comes out on the tray
Everything lands on a metal tray lined with branded paper, which is the giveaway that this is one kitchen doing a different service rather than a separate restaurant. Rosti, sliced grilled beef, sausages, a scoop of mac and cheese, slaw, sauce and sour cream. It reads like a grill plate but the rosti is still the anchor and still the reason to go, in the same way their NUS outlet is worth knowing about if you live west.
Why the timing matters more than the menu
A 6pm to 8.30pm window on two nights is a small door. Owen Road is quiet on weekend evenings, which is exactly the appeal, but it also means turning up at 8.15pm is turning up at the end of a service. Go early in the window. Also check the shop's own channels before you make the trip, because a weekend-evening menu is the first thing an owner-run kitchen drops when staffing gets tight, and we cannot confirm it is still running to those exact hours.
Where it sits in the area
Owen Road is Farrer Park territory, walkable from the MRT, and the stretch is more residential than the Jalan Besar side. That is what makes it work as a date night spot rather than a queue-and-shout dinner. There is no fighting for a table and no thirty-minute wait, which in Singapore is worth as much as the food.
