We spent about $400 on a night in Paradox Singapore Merchant Court's family room and another $350 on food, and the only regret was not booking it sooner. Two queen beds, a working desk, a balcony over the river, a ten minute check-in and a breakfast buffet good enough that we would go back for it alone.
Check-in took about ten minutes. The room, a Premier Two Queen, had two queen beds, a working desk and a balcony looking over Clarke Quay, which for a family room in that part of town is rare. Then we walked the hotel: the pool, the bar beside the pool, a gym that is far bigger than a city hotel needs, and a self-service laundry, which is the feature you do not care about until you have kids.
Dinner was at the hotel's own riverside kiosk, satay and the river lights, before heading back up. The next morning was the breakfast buffet, included in the package, and it was the best part of the stay. Fried chicken at 8am, croissants, a proper cheese board. We would come back for the breakfast.
This was the Family Escape Package, which we broke down line by line in our what $420++ a night covers piece: Premier Two Queen room with balcony, breakfast for up to four, a local welcome gift. Our EVENTFUL5 code took 5% off bookings made up to 31 May 2026. That code has expired, so the "DM us PARADOX" line in the reel no longer gets you anything. The hotel's own site is where the current rate is.
The $350 on food was our choice, not the package. Breakfast is included. Dinner at the riverside kiosk and the drinks by the pool are what added up, and Clarke Quay across the bridge would have been cheaper.
For a night in town with kids, yes, on two conditions. One, you actually use the pool and the breakfast, because that is where the value sits. Two, you book a room with the balcony, because a family in a windowless city room is a different, worse product. The hotel is at 20 Merchant Road, a five minute walk from Clarke Quay MRT, and the whole riverside is stroller friendly.
· Breakfast is included and it is good. Do not book a room-only rate to save money here.
· The self-service laundry is on the guest floors. Bring less clothes for a two night stay.
· Clarke Quay MRT, then walk along the river. Five minutes, sheltered most of the way.
· The 5% code from this reel expired 31 May 2026. Check the hotel site for the live rate.
