The three dishes worth the trip

Ayam buah keluak is the giveaway that this is not a standard hotel buffet. Ellenborough is known for its Peranakan dishes, and the black nut gravy is the hardest one to find done properly. The Tom Turkey came off the carving station, sliced in front of you.

Then dessert: Durian Pengat, the durian and coconut milk dessert, which was their signature. We said we were going back that night. We were not joking. The same buffet got a voucher giveaway from us a week later.

How the 50% off worked

Paradox agreed to an exclusive 50% off with us. You used the code EVENTFUL50 when booking on their TableCheck page. Time Out listed the festive buffet from $78 a person, so half price was a big drop.

Promo code EVENTFUL50 was valid from 21 November 2025 to 1 January 2026, for buffet lunch and dinner, Monday to Sunday. It covered adult prices only, up to 10 diners, and did not work on a la carte or drinks. It was not valid on the eve of public holidays, public holidays, Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day or New Year's Eve dinner, and it could not stack with credit card or other offers. You had to reserve ahead. We went through the fine print separately, because most people who missed out missed it on the dates.

What runs there now

Ellenborough Market Cafe is still open. In October 2026 Paradox lists a Claypot Galore and Peranakan buffet on Friday to Sunday and public holidays at $98++ an adult, plus breakfast, lunch and weekday dinner buffets. We found no Christmas 2026 menu yet, checked 15 October 2026.
