Overrice Blessing Table is a weekly pay-what-you-can meal hosted by Overrice owner Megan Lim at the restaurant at 41 Sultan Gate, Kampong Glam. Overrice covers the food, you give whatever you can or nothing at all, and every guest contribution goes to charity. You apply through the link in @overricesg's Instagram bio, and Overrice contacts you if you are picked.
There is one slot a week. You put your name down through the booking page linked as Overrice Blessing Table in @overricesg's bio, and each booking covers 1 to 4 people. If you are selected, the restaurant gets in touch.
At the table you pay what you can. If that is nothing, Overrice says that is completely OK. The one thing they ask is that you share your story. Megan launched it in a reel on 12 September 2026, saying she wants to feed as many people as she possibly can and hear their stories.
If giving through food is your thing, Food From The Heart's Bedok South community shop is another easy way to help.
The meal is on Overrice, and all guest contributions are donated to charity. Overrice has not named the charity in its posts, so we will not guess. Its website says the restaurant has donated proceeds to a number of charities before, so this is not a one-off gesture.
Pay what you can, take what you need. If you can comfortably afford a rice bowl, the kind move is to leave the slot for someone who cannot.
Overrice is a Muslim-owned rice bowl shop inspired by the Mediterranean food cart at the corner of 53rd Street and Sixth Avenue in New York. Bowls come on seasoned basmati with pita and salad on the side, with chicken, beef, wagyu, salmon, or falafel and tempeh for the plant-based crowd, plus the white sauce and a hot chilli sauce. Its Instagram bio says 100% halal ingredients.
It is open daily from 12pm to 9pm, about a 10-minute walk from Bugis MRT. Staying in the area for more halal food? Our Epicurean Fusion piece covers another one nearby.
When we checked the booking page on 1 October 2026, the next open date for a party of two was Saturday 7 November. Slots move as people apply, so look at the page yourself rather than trusting our snapshot.
