Epicurean Fusion is a 100% Muslim-owned restaurant serving halal food at 4 Jalan Klapa in Kampong Glam, open Tuesday to Sunday from 12:30pm and closed Mondays. The kitchen runs Italian technique through Singaporean and Indian flavours: charcoal-base pizzas from $19, handmade gnocchi including a butter chicken version at $25, gochujang alfredo, and a beef Wellington at $38. Google has it at 4.7 stars over 400-plus reviews.
Fusion usually means confusion, so the test is whether the crossovers taste inevitable.
Butter Chicken Gnocchi ($25) is the one to judge them on: handmade gnocchi in a proper makhani-style gravy, and it works because both cuisines already believe in butter.
The pastas run from a classic Al Cartoccio seafood linguine in parchment ($26) to a Gochujang Alfredo ($24). The pizzas ride a charcoal base, from a $19 Margherita to the $33 Epicurean Cheese Steak, with a Tandoori Chicken at $24 sitting exactly where this restaurant lives. Everything is halal, and the owners are Muslim, though note the kitchen is not MUIS certified.

Start with the Burrata Salad ($18) or the Epicurean Platter ($36, feeds two to three). Then the mains argument begins.
The Beef Wellington ($38, 20 minutes cooking time) is the signature and the reason half the tables book. The Ossobuco ($36) and Lamb Shank ($30) hold the slow-cooked end, the Branzino ($26) the light end.
Gelato is $5 a scoop to finish. Gluten free or wholemeal penne swaps on any pasta for $7, which halal Italian places almost never bother offering.
Epicurean Fusion runs proper weekday deals on Eventful Tables, Tuesday to Friday: 10% off the food bill at 12:30pm and from 5:30pm to 7pm, and 15% off at 1:30pm and from 7:30pm. Drinks are not included, there are no deals on weekends or public holidays, and each deal timing takes five bookings.
The 15% at 7:30pm is the sleeper: a late-ish dinner slot most places charge full price for.
4 Jalan Klapa sits in the quiet lanes of Kampong Glam, a five minute walk from both Haji Lane's crowds and Bugis MRT, close enough to the Sultan Mosque for a post-dinner stroll.
The room is small and bookings run up to six people, with the last seating at 8pm. Booking is free. For the wider picture of what else is bookable, see every restaurant on Eventful Tables.
