Where Matsuya Singapore is and when it opens

Matsuya Foods Singapore lists the outlet at #B1-149/149A, Suntec City Mall, 3 Temasek Boulevard. The grand opening is Saturday 31 October 2026 from 10am, and daily hours are 10am to 10pm, last order 9.30pm. It ran a soft opening from 27 to 29 October and was closed on Friday 30 October to get ready.

Suntec is a big mall and the basement is easy to get lost in. Our Suntec City food guide has the layout and the other basement options, and things to do at Suntec covers the rest of your afternoon.

What Matsuya is, and why gyudon fans care

Matsuya opened in Tokyo in 1966 and, in its own words, has served gyudon at over a thousand outlets across Japan. In Japan it calls the beef bowl gyumeshi, thin-sliced beef and onion simmered in a sweet soy sauce over rice, usually with miso soup on the side. Matsuya's Japanese menu also runs curry rice, set meals called teishoku and a rotating list of limited bowls.

With Matsuya here, Singapore now has all three of Japan's big gyudon chains, after Sukiya and Yoshinoya. Matsuya Singapore has not published its local menu or prices yet, so we are not quoting any. Expect the beef bowl to be the anchor.

How to plan your first visit

Expect a queue on opening weekend. Weekday lunch from 10am, before the office crowd at noon, is the easy window. Late dinner works too, as long as you are in before the 9.30pm last order.

Matsuya does not describe the Singapore outlet as halal, and its gyudon is beef in a soy-based sauce, so check with staff if that matters to you.

Good to know

· Last orders are 9.30pm, not 10pm.

· Go on a weekday before noon to beat the lunch crowd from the Suntec offices.

· The unit is #B1-149/149A on the basement level. Check the mall directory when you get in.
