Deepavali 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November, and Monday 9 November is a public holiday, so most people get a three-day weekend from Saturday 7 to Monday 9 November. In Little India, the Serangoon Road light-up is on every night from 7pm to midnight until 29 November, and the Festival Village bazaar on Campbell Lane runs to 8 November.

Deepavali is on Sunday 8 November 2026. MOM says Monday 9 November is a public holiday if your rest day falls on the Sunday, which covers most office workers. MOE lists the Monday as a public holiday for schools too. So the long weekend is Saturday 7 to Monday 9 November.
The festive menus mostly run around it. We put the ones with confirmed prices in our Deepavali buffet and set menu list. If you are planning the whole month, the November 2026 things-to-do guide has everything else on.
The light-up is organised by LISHA, the Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association, under the name Deepavali Thiruvizha 2026. The light-up ceremony was held on 3 October at Birch Road. The lights now stretch over 2km along Serangoon Road and are on daily from 7pm to midnight.
LISHA's 2026 press kit lists the street light-up from 3 October to 29 November 2026, so you still have three weeks after Deepavali itself. Go on a weeknight if you want photos without a crowd in every frame.

The Festival Village is the bazaar on Campbell Lane, open daily from 7pm to midnight, 10 October to 8 November. Stalls sell clothes, snacks, handicrafts and festive decor.
The Indian Heritage Centre at 5 Campbell Lane runs a Deepavali Open House from 17 October to 8 November, 10am to 6pm, and until 8pm on Saturdays, last admission 7.30pm. It is free for Singaporeans and PRs; ticketed experiences cost extra. LISHA also has free Sangeetham Under the Stars music nights on 17 and 31 October, 8pm to 10pm, and Big Bus Deepavali tours on Saturdays until 28 November at 7pm and 8pm, $12 a person including a $5 food and drink voucher. Book the paid ones on LISHA's ticketing page.
Take the train to Little India MRT (North East and Downtown lines) or Farrer Park MRT (North East line). Serangoon Road runs between the two, so you can walk the whole light-up from one station to the other.
One more thing this year: the haze. The light-up is outdoors, and NEA forecast Unhealthy to Very Unhealthy air for 15 October. Check the 1-hour PM2.5 before you go. Our haze explainer has what the bands mean and who should stay in.
· Go on a weeknight after 8pm for the light-up. Weekends near Deepavali get packed.
· Walk from Little India MRT to Farrer Park MRT so you see the full stretch of lights without doubling back.
· The Festival Village closes on 8 November, but the lights stay on until 29 November.
· Check the 1-hour PM2.5 on haze.gov.sg before a long walk outdoors.
