Climb Central, Boulder Planet or boulder+ for your first visit?
Choose the kind of first session you want before choosing the nearest wall. A walk-in visit with a mandatory briefing, a structured onboarding package and a small introductory class offer different amounts of organised instruction.
This is a booking comparison, not a climbing lesson. Climbing carries injury risk even indoors; learn equipment use and movement from the venue’s qualified staff, not from a written itinerary or an experienced friend’s shortcuts.

Option 1: Climb Central for a walk-in first visit
Climb Central says no previous experience is required and accepts walk-in entries rather than reservations. Its first-visit process includes registration, equipment collection and a mandatory safety briefing. The first-visit page describes a 30-minute briefing, so do not treat arrival as immediate climbing time.
The adult First-Timer Set is S$38.20 and includes registration, entry and equipment rental. Bring socks for the rental shoes. Children must be at least four, over 16kg and over 1m tall; an accompanying adult aged 18+ must actively supervise, with a maximum of two children per adult. Check the appropriate adult-child package rather than multiplying the adult price.
For a central option, Funan is at 107 North Bridge Road, #B2-19/21. The official FAQ gives weekday hours of 11am–11pm and weekend/public-holiday hours of 9am–9pm for Funan and Kallang. Other branches have different weekday hours.
Option 2: Boulder Planet for a booked introduction
The S$55 Starter Pack includes an 80-minute guided onboarding class, two weeks of unlimited entry at its Sembawang and Tai Seng gyms, and climbing shoes during that period. It is for new customers with no prior visits, aged at least 13; the class must be completed before using the unlimited-entry period.
Book the class rather than confusing general walk-in entry with a guaranteed onboarding slot. The page says bookings close one week before the class. Choose the branch you can realistically return to: Sembawang Shopping Centre, 604 Sembawang Road #B1-22/23, or Grantral Mall, 601 MacPherson Road #02-07.
General gym entry and the Starter Pack have different rules. In particular, the package’s age-13 minimum should not be presented as the minimum age for every Boulder Planet programme. Ask the operator about a suitable supervised programme if bringing a younger child.

Option 3: boulder+ for a small introductory class
boulder+ offers Intro to Bouldering classes with a maximum of five participants. Its course page lists S$50 per person for groups of three or more, S$60 for two and S$70 for one. The syllabus includes safety and etiquette as well as an introduction to the activity. Confirm the session’s entry and rental inclusions when booking.
The first-visit page lists rental shoes at S$5 and asks visitors to bring socks. Children aged seven and above may use the walls; under-12s need supervision. Its locations are Aperia Mall, 12 Kallang Avenue, and The Chevrons, 48 Boon Lay Way. General visits can be walk-in, but a specific class needs arranging with the gym.
Compare the full first-visit cost and support
Choose Climb Central if the walk-in process suits your schedule; Boulder Planet if you want a defined onboarding package and can use the return visits; or boulder+ if a small class is your priority. These are different formats, not a cheapest-to-best ranking.
Before paying, confirm the selected branch, age eligibility, instructor availability and what equipment is included. Tell staff you are a first-timer and follow the venue briefing. If a participant needs additional assistance, discuss it directly rather than assuming a standard class provides one-to-one support.
