2GATHER's two big sharing dishes are the Tom Yum Seafood Hotpot at $39.90 and the whole Crispy Tamarind Fish at $38.90, both on its own site. The hotpot carries seafood, pork, instant noodles, mushrooms, cabbage and cracked eggs, so it is a meal by itself; the fish needs rice.

Tom Yum Seafood Hotpot, $39.90

This is the photo on every 2GATHER post. From the menu: tom yum broth with mixed seafood and tender pork, instant noodles, assorted mushrooms, cabbage and freshly cracked eggs. There is also a Tom Yum Meaty Hotpot at $38.90, pork, chicken and meatballs instead of seafood.

It counts as noodles, protein and veg in one pot. For two people it is a lot. For three or four with one side, it is dinner. Prices are before GST and a 10% service charge, per the printed menu. The rest of the menu is in our 2GATHER guide.

Crispy Tamarind Fish, $38.90

A whole fish, deep-fried, then topped with sweet and tangy tamarind sauce and fried lemongrass. One Google reviewer calls it "to die for", and it shows up in nearly every review we read.

The crisp goes fast once the sauce sits, so eat it first. Want something lighter? The Thai-style Steamed Fish is also $38.90: seabass with chilli and lime.

Which one should you order?

Two of you: pick one, not both. The fish with rice and Chilli Kang Kong ($12.90) is the better meal for two. Four of you: get both, plus rice. That is roughly $80 of food before charges, around $20 a head.

Both are part of 2GATHER's party banquet sets too. Set A pairs the tamarind fish with crab omelette, tom yum soup, moo ping and kang kong; Set B is built around the hotpot. See our 2GATHER group dinner guide.
