Tofu G Gave Away 1,460 Free Gelato Scoops: How It Worked
Tofu G marked its first anniversary from 14 June 2026 by giving the first 365 customers at each outlet a free scoop, then 1-for-1 for the next 1,000 customers per outlet. Across four outlets that was 1,460 free scoops, and the brand put the total value of the run at over $50,000. It is finished, so here is what it was and where the shops are now.
The numbers behind the giveaway
Two tiers, both per outlet, not islandwide totals:
First 365 customers at each outlet: one free scoop, choice of Pomegranate, Vegan Tofu or Rich Chocolate. Tofu G valued this at $11,680.
Next 1,000 customers at each outlet: 1-for-1 gelato, valued at $32,000.
Free-scoop runs like this are the most reliably chaotic thing in Singapore food. We saw the same pattern at Burnt Cones' $1 scoops at Paragon.
What Tofu G is, and where to find it now
Tofu G is Korean tofu gelato, which sounds like a health-food compromise and mostly is not. It is soy-based, higher in protein and lower in fat than dairy ice cream, though it is not dairy-free. The brand calls itself Singapore's first tofu gelato.

Order the original tofu first. Black sesame is the crowd-pleaser and the sweet corn is the one people argue about, but the plain one is the point of the whole exercise. Pomegranate was made for the anniversary run and reads more sorbet than gelato.
If froyo and gelato launches are your thing, the Yo-Chi pandan flavour is the other one worth a detour.
Good to know
· Anniversary and opening freebies at Tofu G are counted per outlet. The quieter outlet is the better queue.
· Amoy Street empties on weekends when the CBD does. Best odds for a walk-in.
· The original tofu flavour is the honest test of the brand. Judge them on that one.
