The spray-painted Street Fighter murals we walked past at *SCAPE on Orchard Road are hand-painted posters for the new Street Fighter movie, which the walls say opens in cinemas on 15 October 2026. Our post credits six handles from the RSCLS crew and friends: @rscls, @antz_rscls, @phat.not.eazy, @wingt.art, @gohlucas.art and @zero_x_rscls_o.
There are three pieces. The long one runs along the wall by the PLAYSPACE steps: Chun-Li, Ryu in his red headband, and a giant yellow STREET FIGHTER logo with "in cinemas October 15" under it. Then two freestanding boards. One is Akuma, beard, red hair and the purple prayer beads, screaming at you. The other is Ryu throwing a fireball, with "Ready. Set. Fight." still in pencil outline above him.
We caught them mid-job, ladders up and a scissor lift parked against the wall, so half of each board was still bare linework. Honestly that was the best part. You could see exactly how much of it is freehand. *SCAPE is also where Youth Day took over all five levels in July, our write-up of that is here.
RSCLS, pronounced "rascal", is a Singapore urban art collective that runs talks and exhibitions and has spent years explaining the line between vandalism and graffiti to anyone who will listen. Its best-known name is ZERO, Zul Othman, who is listed among the 2013 recipients of the National Arts Council's Young Artist Award.
ANTZ is another RSCLS member, known for mixing traditional Chinese art with graffiti. The other handles in our caption are @phat.not.eazy, @wingt.art and @gohlucas.art. We did not catch every artist on the day, so if you know who else worked on it, tag them in the comments of our post. They deserve the follow.
Most movie promos in Singapore are a printed vinyl wrap that goes up overnight. This was people on ladders with spray cans, in daylight, painting faces at that scale by hand. That is why the comments went the way they did.
It was not sponsored, by the way. We just thought it was cool to see a studio pay local street artists instead of a printer.
*SCAPE is at 2 Orchard Link, a short walk from Somerset MRT. The long wall is outdoors near the PLAYSPACE steps, and the boards were standing in the open plaza. Two of the three are freestanding boards, so we would not count on them staying up for long after the release.
The movie itself is showing now. Shaw Theatres lists Street Fighter as now showing, rated PG13 for some violence and coarse language, 1 hour 59 minutes, with IMAX screenings too.
· Go in daylight. The long wall is outdoors and the colours look flat under night lighting.
· The Akuma and Ryu boards are freestanding. If you want photos of those, go soon.
· Tag the artists when you post. Hand-painted promo work only keeps happening if people notice it.
