Youth Day 2026 at *SCAPE: All Five Levels, Free BBQ, 5 and 6 July
Youth Day 2026 ran on 5 and 6 July at *SCAPE and took over the entire building, five levels of it, free to walk into. It was a youth-led project convened by The New Normal and The Resonance Project, and the programme was the widest *SCAPE has run: nerf battles and Beyblade on Level 1, a floor-wide cafe and free BBQ on Level 3, a Do Nothing room on Level 4.
It ran until 6 July 2026. We keep the page up because people still search for it and the details are worth having, but do not make the trip on the strength of this article. For what is actually on right now, see things to do this weekend.
What was on each level
Level 1 was the loud floor: nerf battles, Beyblade, rollerblading, Muay Thai, calisthenics, community jams, a vintage flea market and after-parties, plus DJ, lightsaber, art, jump rope and wotagei workshops. Level 2 had DJ booths, mural painting, speed-stacking, fashion upcycling, busking, pop band workshops and photobooths. Level 3 was the food and quiet floor: a cafe across the whole level, free BBQ at 120 servings an hour, board games, a vinyl listening room, book pop-ups and film screenings. Level 4 held community art jams, a pop-up city garden and the Do Nothing room. Level 5 was the Ideas Fest makerspace. The giveaway we ran with them
We ran a giveaway with @youthdaysg for five Youth Day 2026 packages worth $46 each, holding a $30 Grab voucher and three Yoajung Dubai Chewy Cookies. Entries closed on 3 July 2026, so it is done, but the cookie is not: we wrote up the Yoajung Dubai chewy cookie separately if you want to know whether it is worth queueing for.
Getting in, and the carpark warning
Everyone had to check in at *SCAPE Commune on Level 1 or the drop-off point on Level 2 to get into the building. The carpark was shut from 10pm on 4 July right through to 11pm on 6 July, which caught people out. *SCAPE is a two-minute walk from Somerset MRT, so driving there during a full-building takeover was never the move anyway.
