Hatch the Makan Pets Egg: Our Hold-and-Scroll Flipbook Post

How to watch it hatch

Press and hold the little dots under the post, then slide sideways. Slow is fine, fast is better. The egg wobbles, cracks, glows orange along the crack, and then the top lifts off and there is a red face under it.

From there it peeks, winks, gets a bit teary, breathes a tiny flame and ends on slide 20 looking furious. Born angry. For a sambal, that is correct. The same chilli was holding up letters in our this-initial-owes-you-a-meal post, and it looked about this pleased there too.

Why it is a baby

Because everyone's pet starts as an egg. On eventful-sg.com/makanpets you answer 8 questions about how you eat, and the quiz tells you which of the 7 Makan Pets you are. Your pet shows up still in its shell. You name it, then tap it to hatch it.

So this post is basically a preview of your own pet's first day. Ours came out as Shiok Sambal, but yours could be any of the seven.

Which egg is yours

Only one way to find out. The full cast and how the quiz works is in our Makan Pets guide, and there is one pet most people do not get on the first try, which we teased here.

Take it with a friend. Comparing pets is half the fun, and finding out you two are enemies is the other half.
