Our verdict on the Sengkang pasar malam beside Compass One in January 2026: it was one of the cleaner and nicer pasar malams we have walked through, with a tidy tented layout, more than 30 food stalls and a properly big games area. It ran 16 January to 16 February 2026 according to our post, and that edition is over.
Most heartland pasar malams are a squeeze of extension cords and wet floor. This one had a red carpet running down the main aisle, string lights the whole length of the tent and stalls with proper lit signboards. You could walk it without stepping in anything.
Location helped too. The entrance sat right beside Compass One, so you came off the MRT, crossed a short covered walkway and you were in. For the actual food and every stall price we filmed, read our Sengkang pasar malam food and prices piece.
Our count was over 30 of the usual food vendors, the regulars you see at every run: Thai tea, vadai, BBQ seafood, traditional snacks, durian. There were a few newer names too, like Kōri Matcha and a stall with Ebit Lew's name over it.
The surprise was the games area. Coin pushers, ball games and a wall of claw machines stuffed with plushies, enough to keep kids busy while the adults queue. That alone made it a better family outing than most pasar malams, which usually stop at one bouncy castle.
Families in Sengkang and Punggol, mostly. The games area and the clean aisles make it easy with kids, and you are a short walk from a mall with toilets and air-con if anyone melts down.
If you only care about the food, it is the standard pasar malam lineup done well rather than anything you cannot find elsewhere. Our pasar malam food tier list tells you which of those regulars are worth your stomach space.
· Weekday evenings are usually calmer than weekends at any pasar malam, worth it if you have kids in tow.
· Use Compass One for toilets and a cool-down break.
· There is no fixed schedule we can point to: watch @tlkevents and @eventful_sg for the next Sengkang run.
